In short: Well organised, flat, but more than 5 miles? In full: Shame about the wind! Pancake flat making it a definite for PBs. A little confusing at the start as to how far it was from the leisure centre to the start line having not done the race before.
Possibly innaccurate measurement? Garmin measured 5.08m, and looking on map my run website, where I have marked the start and finish points taken from my garmin (yes its a bit geeky!), it measured there as 5.18m. Whilst none will be as accurate as a Jones wheel counter, neither will be far off. The extra distance on mapmyrun will be due to not taking each corner at the apex I guess, but the satellite points will be pretty darn accurate for the start and finish line. In short: Well organised, grass roots race on a flat-ish course In full: A great run - car parking right at the start and finish area, well organised, and a quick course - a few longish but gentle climbs in the second half to test your tired legs - not sure where the downhills were though! Ran through country lanes most of the way and some good scenery. T shirt, showers and refreshments at the end. I'll be back next year for sure. thanks to all at Wolves and Bilston AC Date of review: September 15, 2008

In short: Flattish course in very tough conditions In full: The race HQ is excellent being on the 3 counties showground. The first 5 miles of the race are the nicest - quiet roads - but then the next 6 are run on quite main roads, but are well marshalled. The headwind today in the last half of the course - which is mostly uphill - made for hard going - like running in treacle!! This race has great potential and is for a well deserved course. Garmin had it as 13.18 which is unusual to be out by so much but there you go. thanks to all the officials etc. Date of review: June 22, 2008

In short: Fast 10k on quiet country lanes In full: Excellent and friendly run, on a fast 2 lap course. There is one small incline on each lap - which seemed steeper 2nd time round (don't they always). Parking is ample and right at the start/ finish area. Well marshalled, and at £5 for pre entries with a free half pint of beer at the end, an absolute bargain. I will be back next year for sure. Thanks to the organisers and everyone involved - I hope you begin to attract more people - the race deserves it and is on a par with the Guy Fawkes 5 in terms of PB potential. A map of the route via maymyrun is below - I think I got the start and finish points correct

In short: Friendly and flat - but too many twists and turns for a PB In full: The course runs through the park and whilst flat, has too many gates/ posts/ narrow passing places with runners coming the other way to make this a PB course - which is a shame as it could perhaps be 3 laps of the park rather than 2 and avoid the out and back sections where you have to almost stop to go around a marshall, but of course this would also be difficult as it would result in lapped runners etc. Great T shirt and goody bag and nice friendly atmosphere and well worth doing though! Cheers to the organisers Date of review: October 1, 2007

In short: nice rural course, uphill start and finish, but mostly a fast course In full: The race was run in awful weather conditions - heavy rain and standing water/ floods in places. But despite this it was an enjoyable race in a great setting, well organised with decent changing, showers, tea, cakes and rolls at the end Date of review: July 21, 2007
