In short: did a pb 3.14 and loved it.
In full: Got put in the middle pen. Was dissapointed as I new I could get held back early on.After a loop of the start and running into Brighton proper I managed to hit 7.20 mile pace. I was a bit nervous of the hills but these are easily dealt with. Worst bit was the ferocious cross wind at around 8-11 miles trying to blow you into the sea. The straight to the Power Station was grim but every marathon has something ugly. London marathon coming out of Canary Wharf past Billingsgate is no better. Organisation was excellent. You could even get porridge at the start. An excellent idea. I really enjoyed the weekend as well. Make the most of it with your family. They can have a great time too.

In short: loved it despite it being a personal disaster
In full: Trained hard for this. Flew out on the Saturday from Birmingham and stayed in ST Hellier. Went to the pasta party(small plates) and had two dinners. The marathon was interesting. I new I was injured but my left calf tore at 0.8 miles. It was strapped up but I wanted the medal. The climb up past the fishing lakes is lovely. The course heads left and off to the airport. A few twists and turns then a nice run in the shade to StAubins then 4 miles of, er , hell. I actually loved the course although its a bit wonky in places. Went to Aquasplash and did all the chutes, wave pool etc. McDonalds and flew back that afternoon. Had a brilliant time and would recommend it to anyone. Best thing is I think the course is a tad short.

In short: perfect 6 mile circuit
In full: Hated it last time loved it this time. To have a race within 2 miles of my house is quite novel. This ones perfect. Runners of a high standard mingle with us also rans and run a loop that climbs and dips like a roller-coaster.A good test of fitness and discipline. If you go to fast at the start you may be blowing bubbles up the gradual but relentless climb after four miles. Well organised but the course is the best feature of this race. Everyone should try and nail it at least once.

In full: where to start. Ran a pb that was 40.19 / 20 but a tale to tell. Organisation excellent and a high turnout helped create a great atmosphere. A chip on the number what could possibly go wrong. Started, got moving then a large person appeared tumbling. He grabbed another runner and pulled him over and grabbed me and ripped my vest and my number clean off.Regained my footing and got a pb. Gutted my chip had gone. Felt really strong last 400 and could have sprinted a few more seconds off. Definately recommend this race.

In short: superb effort for a first event.
In full: First time for Brackley but their obvious experience in running in various events and their attention to detail meant the organisation, especially at the start area was excellent. A good P.A. system definately helped. I couldnt resist a double fried egg sandwich at the stART. Not ideal but it went with the Chicken theme. First 5k I nailed at 20.12 but at mid point we ran alongside the longest pile of cow poo in Northants which with wind assistance encouraged speed . The second 5k were harder and three uphills near the finish did my legs. An excellent course, an excellent event superbly hosted.
