In short: Great race, brilliantly organised. In full: This race has all the features you would associate with a much bigger race (chip timing, proper drinks station with bottles, excellent marshalling, clear signage) but with the friendliness of a small local event. The course is challenging so don't expect a PB but really enjoyable. Well organised - big thanks to all the Marshalls and everyone else involved. Definitely one for next year. In short: A great introduction to trail running In full: Fantastic scenery and a reasonably challenging course made it ideal for a novice trail runner. Organisation was spot on with the course clearly marked and a friendly marshall (thanks guys!) at every turn. Hopefully this will become an annual event. Date of review: November 12, 2007
In short: Tough climb - but great view from the top In full: First time at this event and am surprised it doesn't attract more. A challenging course (for the first half anyway) but the view from the top is fantastic. Big thanks to the organisers and volunteers - look forward to seeing you all next year. In short: Great Race - Well organised In full: Some great scenery, particularly on the first half of the course. Well organised with plenty of drinks stations. The volunteers were really encouraging (many thanks to all of them) and the general public were really supportive. Good friendly atmosphere amongst the runners. The only downside was that wind!!! In short: My first marathon - definitely not my last! In full: A fantastic race with great camaraderie between runners. Many thanks to all the volunteers and supporters who braved the weather. It's a shame that the mist hid some of the scenery - I drove the course the day after and the views are stunning. Still, gives me an excuse to come back next year.
Great T-shirt as well and, unlike other races I've done, available in a generous XL size (for us 'chunky' runners).
My only gripe - can we have a pee break on the bus next year? Date of review: October 6, 2006
