In short: The Scenery, course and atmosphere are excellent. The second half was less dramatic and less hilly, more support with a frustrating last 1.5 mile listeneing/ watching people finish.The first half, the atmosphere and the police escort make it a must.

In short: Painfull but worth it. Well organised, friendly and glorious scenery. The terrain is very challenging though.

In short: Excellent trail race,good mix of terrain and glorious views. Not the most aggressive trail race. No T-shirt or goody bag though- not good for a £25 race (especially with a 350 mile journey there )

In short: Lakes 50-My first ultra race and it was epic.
In full: The weather turned it ino a huge challenge, the navigation was very intimidating especially in the dark and the storms.The potential for running was very limited by the bogs, paths/streams and rocky hazards. But it was glorious: the comraderie was unforgetable and the achievement was huge.
I said I wouldn't do another but that was definitely a mistake.

In short: Recomended
In full: Third time I've run this one. Keep forgetting about the hilly first half. Its an excellent course with a rewarding mixture of road and trail. There is a glorious trail bit in the middle which makes up for all the hills that went before. Well organised and a very fiendly and casual atmosphere. All thats right about racing !

A T shirt might be nice though !

In short: A tough but rewarding race. Well organised and very friendly. The extra 2 miles were very long miles !

In short: Tamer than the hellrunner but still an excellent course-Technical, involving and messy . Good atmosphere and excellent goody bag ! Distance markers would be good though.

In short: Ow, that hurt ! Definitely an achievement. The hills were neverending and took your breathe away. The scenery was astounding and the atmosphere was friendly. The navigation wasn't as easy as was suggested. Very Good race.

In short: Very good race, the smell at the Bog of Doom was truely impressive and perhaps expains why the mud refused to wash off no matter how hard you tried. Good fun & Great atmosphere !.
