In short: Superb In full: A well organised race which is run mainly on tracks. There are no real hills and if it is dry then this is set up for a quick run. Well done to Telford Harriers for putting on such a great race. The Fun Run is also a nice touch and my daughet, neice and nephew all loved the medals they got :-) Date of review: March 23, 2009

In short: The course is set up for fast times In full: Any inclines/declines are gradual and the course is set up for fast times. The marshalls are all friendly and the event ran very well. The mug at the end was a nice touch. Date of review: November 17, 2008

In short: Tough In full: The uphills are hard, expecially the first time up to the summit but they are nothing compared to the downhills. 4 quid for a well organised race with a great tee-shirt and food at the end is the best value I have ever seen. Date of review: November 3, 2008

In short: Course set up for quick times In full: The loop through a car park at mile 11/20 and the constant up/down kerbs during teh last few miles (and the under pass!) took away some of the flow of the course.
Well organised and marshalled, but why no refreshments for spectators - you could have made a few quid selling bacon butties. Date of review: October 20, 2008

In short: Great event In full: 10k is a great course with only one climb (short and steep)of note which is towards the end, so you can really get into your running early on and go for a good time.
Also did the Fun Run with my daughter, which was great and the marshalls were so encouraging to her.
Great to have it on the same day as the bike races, made it a great day out. Date of review: September 29, 2008

In short: Great race and well done to the organisers In full: Keeping a marathon in Lancashire is a top achievement and I for one applaud Ron and his team.
Ok the concrete is hard work and very boring but the organisers had to contend with the seafront works, etc and managed to make the best of it.
If you are thinking about giving this a go next year then I would say go for it. Date of review: April 28, 2008

In short: This is a run not a race for anyone not at the front! In full: The start is the biggest joke of any big race I have done and it is far easier to get into your running at FLM or the GNR. Without chip timing you will always get people starting too far forward, given the cost this is a joke. The commentator at the start said this was the UK's leading half, he needs to get his head examined as without allowing everyone to race it simply isn't.
The course is great and the crowds are excellent. Date of review: March 31, 2008

In short: A great event In full: Like a few other people have commented I actually preferred the revised course and it was great running by the crowded area more often. Ron and his team did a great job, many thanks. Date of review: February 25, 2008
