In short: Well worth the trip In full: Well organised run, sorry I missed the Expo. Big thanks to all the marshalls, first aid, police, supporters along the road and finally the organisers.Could be a PB course. Will be back next year Date of review: May 29, 2007
In short: A new dimension to running In full: Not for the faint hearted. I have never run cross country before having spent most my time on the road.Did not know what to expect.Extremely hilly and muddy.Very well marshalled and sign posted. Thanks for all those that braved the wet and cold waiting for me to finish in 2h29.Ask me later if I will do it again. Thanks to the school for the showers,it was most welcome at the end. In short: PB opportunity In full: Pleasant scenary, fast course for a PB.Well marshalled on the course but no finding the start.Delayed start and standing at the back of the field did not hear the start of the race.Nice touch with the coffee and cakes at the beginning. No water at the end as mentioned.Yes they did have a large field but had enough time after the start to orgainise extra water.Water bottle will come in handy. Thanks Date of review: November 6, 2006
In short: Good organisation, more water please In full: A PB so I am really happy. 2 water stops was known about but a third would have helped around 8 miles.
As for those who complain about price/goodie bag, have a thought as to how much goes to charity, road closures, traffic management, chip timing etc
A good fast course, inclines were steady, and of course the downhills were welcome. Industial estate not great I felt as if I had hit the wall seeing the runners looping back.A dent in morale.
Crowds were welcome near the end to help you through the last couple of miles. Though the comment from one marshall saying its only 400m to go, when its at least twice that, not a good idea when you are desperate for the finish.
All in all, a good race, thanks to Stroud AC,the support along the road and all the marshalls.
In short: Well worth the visit-think twice about a PB. In full: Well done especially all the marhshalls. They were really encouraging they needed to be because it felt that every corner you turned there was another up hill. The scenery was absolutely great ans soemthing to soak up.Goody bag was super and the T shirt fab. Calling out your name as you came to the finish was uplifting and you felt that sense of achievement.Highly recommend.Well done Pem Tri. Date of review: September 25, 2006
In short: Very casual approach by organisers, pleasant enough In full: Registration OK,coffee available before race Start 2 miles from finish but bus was arranged.Good touch.Enough water points.Received medal, certificate and t-shirt.Thanks Date of review: May 30, 2006
In short: Good atmosphere at the start and lots of encouragement In full: Music at the start gets you going. The route was plesant with the start having a gradual incline for the first 2 miles.A rather hot day and the water tables were really welcome.Lots of encouragement along the way which helps to motivate the lets. Thanks to all of you out there. One downer was that by the time I finished in 2h21 there were no more T shirts, however did obtain a certificate. I would do it again with a PB on the cards. Date of review: May 8, 2006
In short: Very scenic but rather tough if it is your first 10k.Would recommend In full: Well organised race, plenty of marshalls all wishing you well as you run past.Rather dissappointed that there was no medal or badge at the end.But I suppose I knew that from the start. The atmosphere was great and people made you feel welcome. Will do it again.
