In short: Irrelevant results because gun to chip, not chip to chip
In full: An OK race overall, although could have done without the military style-shouting-teenage marshals. Injured and pregnant so was running this for fun, but if I was chasing a PB I would have been dissapointed as they timed it gun to chip, rather than chip to chip. As it took me over 2 minutes to cross the start line, my results were way out. Luckily had my trusty Garmin to give me an accurate time. Probably a good race for beginners.

In short: An excellent, fun race with hills!
In full: A few things could have been improved here: would have been nice to have marshals in strategic places (yes, there were big yellow signs pointing you in the right direction but occasionally these were ambiguous) and more marshals in general, but overall I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The wild boar crossing the route was the highlight for me (although scary at the time)! Definitely felt like a bit of an 'adventure'. One of the most fun halves I've done.

In short: Killer first mile
In full: I never quite recovered from the first uphill mile ... however at the top you were rewarded with glorious woodland scenery, some stunning views and four times as many water stations as promised. There were also friendly, encouraging marshalls and a fast finish. A cake/flapjack/banana at the end would have been nice, but will definitely consider doing this again next year.

In short: A Sunday well spent
In full: Overall I enjoyed this race and there was a good atmosphere at the start/finish line. Only gripe was the timing chips: something wasn't right with the computer and it seems that not everyone's results were being recorded accurately. Just looked at the race results on the website and I am listed as not even having run!! Unless that was a dream and my aching legs are lying ... Pity as otherwise excellent day out.

In short: Uplifting way to celebrate new year
In full: Despite falling over the cones in the dark at the hairpin bend, this was an excellent start to new years eve. Shame they didnt seem to record chip times as the results show the time I crossed the finishing line, not the time I actually ran it. Also rumour has it that it was slightly short of 5k which my watch also confirmed. But despite this, a brilliant fun atmosphere which means I'll be back in 2011.

In short: Still scrubbing off the mud
In full: Great fun will definitely be doing this again. Glorious sunshine probably helped bucket loads though!
