In short: Fantastic race- will do it every year I can!
In full: Course was flat as a pancake. Support was fantastic especially as quick first half mile loop brings you back past the spectators at the start and is a real uplift, as was the support from the folk of Torrington at around half way, there were loads of them right outside the pub (Named the Puffin Billy!), cheers guys. Also, great support right the way through the last 500m. Marshals were excellent and everywhere, drinks stations were well organised, it was good to have water in bottles making it a lot easier to drink than the usual plastic beakers, nice touch BAC. Road was shut in the running direction which is another credit to the organisation. The tunnel was interesting!, at around 10 miles (and in my state of severe fatigue) the experience felt slightly psychedelic to me so thank you for that. Obviously the distance issue is slightly annoying but I reiterate previous comments about it being an honest mistake, it only detracted from my PB not my experience and I’ll be back to smash that next year anyway! (Someone running at the front was obviously switched on enough to lead us back on course so a big thank you to them!, could have been a catastrophe else ! And one more thing, at least it effected everybody the same, we were all in it together and I’m betting it doesn’t happen next year!) Be quick next year because it’ll sell out fast. Shirt was good quality. If I was to suggest one thing to improve the race I would say 1200 runners would love a big banner with START to go with the great music and dancing marshals at the beginning! Thank you Bideford running club!

In short: Challenging but rewarding road racw
In full: A race of two hills and two halves. The first hill is steep and zig-zags so that you don’t realise how far away the top actually is, it also gets steeper towards the end! The second is more gradient friendly but still a fair slog to climb and probably took longer then the first. I found it a much more agreeable race this time around by running steadier to begin with through the hills and cranking it up at the end for a long last four miles of plateau or downhill. A good race for those with half-marathon aspirations.
