In short: In hindsight, a great run
In full: Didn't make it all the way up the hill as my quads and calfs would never have forgiven me. Took me a while to pick up the pace again but then the course allowed me speed up. Shame about the weather, good for running but not for
Viewing the scenery and for the spectators. I'll have to keep going back until the sun shines.

In short: Another superb Trionium event.
In full: The first 3 reviews say it all and I agree wholeheartedly. Rare to find a race that you cannot think of any negatives. Very hard race but when you've finished that becomes another plus point.

In short: Couldn't be better
In full: Very hard but well worth making the effort. Surely this is what running should be about - running along the tracks and trails, through the trees and seeing some marvellous scenery and views.
I think I deserved the after race "breakfast".

In short: If you like running...
In full: Forget the PB's and the roads, enjoy the countryside and feel a great sense of achievement in finishing such a hard race. Not as steep uphill as Midsummer Munro last month so this allowed more running rather than hands on knees walking.

In short: I'm not looking to waking up tomorrow morning and I guess Monday morning will be worse!
In full: Ditto to all the comments already made. Why would anyone want to do such a hard race? It's all about self-fulfillment. Knowing you are physically and, more importantly, mentally strong enough to keep going.
Thanks Dr Rob and all the marshalls. Hope to see you next year and I may try the other races as well.

In short: Kent's finest?
In full: It was wet, cold and there were two decent hills in the middle. The February rain had caused flooding on the route sometimes 8-9 inches, exacerbated by cars on the other side of the road causing waves! Great goody bag: tech t-shirt and a medal and some tasty nibbles.
Great race, possibly the best road half of the 50+ that I've done.
Best bit was being greeted at the end of the funnel with a smile by Dame Kelly Holmes - possibly our loveliest national treasure.
The organisers and cheerful marshals did a fantastic job. See you next year when the weather will be much better.

In short: Who cares about medals and water it's the hill we come to conquer!
In full: We're all getting soft. I took a sip of water, so I'm now sorry for not leaving it for later runners. Do we really need a water station on an 8 mile run in December? If you really need water use a belt or carry a bottle. The mug is nice and a bonus for the hard work but the reward is knowing that you've tackled and completed a very hard run.

In short: If it rains, stay in bed!
In full: That was hard. My 11th marathon but my running partner's first. He should beat his time by an hour on a flatter course!
Despite the wind, rain and aching limbs I kept thanking those marshals who were out on the course for hours doing a fantastic job guiding us and urging us on. Not one did I pass who wasn't smiling and wishing us well. Best marshalling I have ever experienced in 25 years of running.

In short: One of my favourites
In full: The mud made it much harder and I missed not having the steps and the small ford across a forest path.
Enjoyed my pint and rump steak and fries in the Rising Sun in the village afterwards.
Definetely the best way to spend a Sunday in August!
