In short: Great Course, and great organistaion In full: Despite what other reviews state I actually think that this is a reasonably quick course. The uphills are short and sharp but the downs are long and quick with a fair bit of flat in between. Very enjoyable with great marshalls sporting jelly babies and a smile.
Anyone who walked up the hill at mile 8.....shame on you it was just a little pimple. ;) Date of review: March 19, 2010

In short: Suprisingly fast course In full: Many complaints from some reviews of wind or cold but ITS DECEMBER!!! Course advertised as undulating but I have completed many races with more hills than this one that are advertised as flat. Just a couple of little bumps in the road but hardly noticable, that is why I would rate this as a really quick course. Very well marshalled and not as ugly as I was expecting. Overall very good, well done to the organisers. Date of review: December 8, 2009

In short: Could be brilliant let down by poor organsiation In full: Wonderful view, sunny day, tough race. I would have rated this much more BUT is it to much to ask to mark the course out? There are some very detailed sections where (if alone) you'll just have to guess which way to run. I lost many places and dropped from a hard earned 5th place near the end where the signposting was non-existent (and I wasnt alone), clocked my run at 23 miles instead of 21 due to this mishap. Fortunately I think they sent a marshall out for the runners coming in later. Please mark the route in future. Date of review: July 27, 2008

In short: Great race, Unique challenge In full: I loved it. It's not 18 miles but it's still bloody hard. For a point to point race with the additional task of laying on transport, it's also very well organised. It was hot but there was plenty of water and sponges and a great reception at the end. This is now my favourite race!!! Date of review: September 8, 2007

In short: Well Organised, Good route In full: It was my First time doing this one and I was quite impressed with the organisation. Plenty of water stations and support throughout. Not the fastest course but certainly not the slowest either.
Only improvement would be to have chip timing. I arrived a little late and was stood still at the start while the clock was ticking. It never ceases to amaze me why some people insist on lining up at the front then at the gun set off at a walk. Winge over, Its a good race. Date of review: September 2, 2007
