In short: A well organised race, even slightly out of season. Seemed strange running it in 11 deg C heat!

In short: Very congested. Took me nearly 8 miles to claw back the time I lost in the first 2miles.
In full: I think my sentiments largely echo other comments made on this site. The start was very poor - I'd argue it was more congested than VLM, which is about four times the size. I didn't have any probs at the finish, but I finished in 1:24:07, so it wasnt too congested. I appreciate that it would be absolutely gutting for people who got delayed crossing the finish line - it's a basic thing that simply shouldn't happen.

In short: A good London training run.
In full: Scenery was wonderful, all very rural. I've never raced 20 miles before, so not sure how this course would rate PB-wise. It seemed generally fairly flat, a little undulating in places. I guess that's pretty good for a 20-mile course. Organisation was generally fine, although collecting the number at the start was chaotic. Not sure how many beginners would be racing a 20miler, but I could imagine this race being very welcoming for them. Value-wise, it seemed reasonable for the distance.

In short: As advertised - flat and fast.
In full: I wouldn't recommend this race if you're looking for a scenic jog - but then it isn't advertised as one. It's advertised as flat and fast, which it certainly is. Good atmosphere and well organised - started dead on 1000. The towel at the end was a different momento worth the entry fee by itself. The race had quite a clubby feel to it which might put off beginners, presumably this was caused in part by it being the regional 10 mile race. I shaved a couple of minutes off my pb, so i'm happy.

In short: Apologies to everybody who saw me say goodbye to my breakfast near the golf course ;-)
In full: Set in rural south wales, scenary was lovely (apart from the sewage works). Great atmosphere at the race HQ, marshals were cheerful all the way around. Very well organised. Could do with either mile markers or a route map to help first-timers like to plan my race a bit better. Excellent vfm, shall enjoy my xmas pudding later! This would be a good race for a beginner, as the atmosphere was very friendly and not too "clubby". The only problem would be the big dipper at the start - i don't think you'd convert many people to running after that! A race I'll definitely remember.

In short: Cracking fun - would definitely recommend it
In full: This was my first slog and I've had a fantastic day. Chipping Sodbury is a lovely part of the country to visit. It's not a race that I'd choose to try and beat a PB on, but running through rivers has great novelty value. The atmosphere throughout was very good, aided by very friendly marshals. Well organised, although the race started before people had a chance to get in position properly - need to allow longer to get runners to the start next time. Two minute silence and Last Post a very nice and meaningful touch. VFM - well worth it. It's a good beginner's race as long as you've trained properly, otherwise the course would put off would-be runners. As stated before, the course has got a fun feeling to it. Will try to do this one next year.
