In short: An amazing ecperience
In full: Fresh water out and back swim in the rowing lake. The venue had supposedly cleared the weeds but next time they could perhaps do a better job of it. Minor gripe though. Superb bike course with a few hills but no killers. Excellent traffic management and marshalling gave us a clear ride throughout. Near pancake flat run with well stocked feed stations. Can't think of anything that wasn't done well.

In short: Let down badly by the quality of the written instructions
In full: The route instructions were terrible. No idications of distances to the next turn. Stretches missed off. Assumptions made that we know the road and farm names. By the time we got to the route split where bizzarly the 17 mile course does an extra 4 mile loop to rejoin the 26 mile course 10 yards later we'd all given up with the instructions and ended up doing the extra 4 miles loop too.

In short: Opened my eyes to what life on a canal is like!
In full: I ran both days. 90 miles along a canal is mentally tough without much to look forward to but another bit of canal! I did learn a lot about how canals work. I can't fault the organisation but it lacked a few touches that would have given it a 5. Excellent T that I am proud to wear.

In short: Just beautiful, an excellent weekend away
In full: I ran this as part of the district double. Despite legs that didn't want to run from the start I really enjoyed it. Next year I might try for a pb here!

In short: My legs hurt!
In full: This course doesn't mess around. You go straight up the hills and then you go down them again. Repeat for 26 miles. Refreshments were great but I could have done with another water station out at the estuary - I will carry a bottle and refill it next time.

In short: Just a few missing touches
In full: All the major bits were well organised, marshalling and directions were great. I did think the marshalls in the first few miles were subdued but the support built as we progressed. The water at the finish was too far away, the goody bag contained a drink and a pen and the T shirt is uninspiring. Well routed course - following the contours mostly on the 2nd half but attacking them vigourously on the first.

In short: Would have been brilliant
In full: LOL. Got an email this morning asking me to rate the "Cancelled - The BIG RW Forum Party". Well I'm sure it would have been great. Big shame it didn't happen.

In short: Great country run with a few testing hills
In full: I liked the course, despite three trips through the housing estate. The first half was quite testing, seemingly going up more than down and against the wind too. The second half had a nice downhill from m6 to m7 and just a brief hill up to m8. I can't fault the organisation and probably the main thing keeping the ratings down is the time of year (damp and windy!) Has to be a favourite face since I PB'd!

In short: Not as bad as you expect in some places and worse in others!
In full: We had beautiful weather this year and fabulous views. The climb up the first pass was not as tough as I had prepared for mentally. The back straight between 14 and 21 miles took it out of me but I think that was largely down to the distance. Then it was "that big hill" for which I doubt there's any preparation. Just about everyone walked up a large part of it, but everyone seemed to be in good spirit. You can see the finish from the top! All you have to do is scamper, climb or slide down to it. Water stations were frequent and supportive marshalls were there at the right places. Tough - yes, impossible - no. Great fun in a strange sort of way.

In short: Great course for a city centre start taking in quite a few parks or similar
In full: There were a few hills but nothing that should stop anyone from entering. Very well marshalled. Quite a scenic route at times. Only gripe is that the start barriers had no breaks to allow people across or to get to your timed start point - health and safety police I suspect.
