In short: Ideal training run in non-ideal conditions
In full: Didn't mind the torrential rain so much, but could have done without the quagmire that was the canal "path" which was very draining on the legs (and that was just the first 3m!). Tea and cakes at end excellent though, well marshalled and would be very scenic in better conditions

In short: Ideal marathon training
In full: Third time I've done this, is almost now compulsory as part of training for a spring marathon. Last 5K seemed to hurt more than in the past and you need to keep something back for it. As already mentioned 11k marker was way off (sabotage, as clearly marked on road?)

In short: More scenic than you might think
In full: A well organised and friendly half with a couple of nasty hills but not as tough as the profile suggests. Always good to see Mick 'n Phil.

In short: Improved course and great organisation
In full: Much improved course and some challenging hills in second and ninth miles. Lovely day, perhaps a little hotter than ideal but there was plenty of shade to be had for a significant portion of the course for those that wanted to seek it out.

Organisation was very good but I have to say at £22 you want to expect that and how much was that for a T-shirt?!?

Too many runners ignored the pace groupings at the start - there were some very slow runners at the front which posed some challenges in the first couple of miles. However, hill in the park soon sorted that out.

All in all though a very accessible and well organised race and I'll no doubt be back for a fourth time.

In short: Fantastic experience once again
In full: I didn't think that crowds could beat last year, but given the damp conditions it seemed that they did. Blue start seemed to flow much quicker this year with introduction of pens. Was there more loos as well this year? Even though this is my third finish, improving each time to a sub 4hr time, the last six miles don't get any easier. Absolutely wonderful day.

In short: Scenic undulating course ideal as FLM prep
In full: Ran last year in dull conditions; much nicer today but wind was a killer in places. Marshalls were particularly impressive at a busy junction in Oakley village

In short: Superb pre-FLM training run
In full: Good atmosphere and surprisingly scenic as well. Even congestion was ideal prep for FLM. If I was nit-pitpicking I would say that run along canal wasn't as enjoyable as you might think and one more water station would have been nice. However, free tea and cakes, organisation and a really good small club feel made this incredible value.

In short: Good big race prep for FLM
In full: Third PB in three attempts, so fast course makes it worth turning up for that alone. Sure its not the most interesting of courses, but its off road, the organisation is faultless and its got championchip and timing every mile.

In short: Surprisingly scenic
In full: Advertised as hilly, but posted an unexpected PB, so perhaps it wasn't that bad. Great facilities at the start, if you can live without showers.
