In short: A hill, and another and another
In full: I am used to hills in races but this one is especially hard going. First 5 miles were really tough. Nice couple of streams to get through. 100% off road as well which is nice. Great t-shirt. Lots at the start for the family. Really nice race.

In short: Friendly race with an interesting course
In full: Nice to have the fast downhills at the beginning followed by some tougher hills in the latter part of the race. Marshalling was excellent, well signed throughout the course. A race with real personality. Very pleased that so much of the money could go to charity.

In short: Tough terrain and lots of water
In full: Excellent race, the organisers should be congratulated. Enthusiastic marshalls cheering you on make all the difference. Beautiful scenery with a fair few river crossings to keep it interesting. First half is pretty tough going so bring your stamina.

In short: Smiling, but good bye to my muddy kit!
In full: Great race. Well organised. Felt appreciative to be running after the 2 minute silence pre race. Good facilities, lots of portaloos. Really good fun atmosphere. Friendly. Race itself is really hard work, lots of mud, hills, water and a few fun obstacles. Makes you wonder why spend a fortune on hyped up races like the hellrunner when great value muddy challenges like this are around at half the price.

In short: Nice tough hills and beautiful scenery...far too easy to go the wrong way:(
In full: I loved the part of this race that I completed, but I took a wrong turn and went so far wrong that it wasn't worth me turning back (@1:30). Got a lift back to the finish with a friendly marshall. The major improvement here has to be with the directions. If you end up separated from a pack of runners you are left much on your own to "guess" which route to take at certain points. I did however enjoy the scenery and having done the mimsy last year know that this is a race worth giving another go.

In short: Hot Hot Hot
In full: This was a nice race to come back to. The weather was extra fierce and on top of the steep hills this was a real toughie. Organisation was great, brilliant atmosphere afterwards. Value for money sports massage at the end helped me out a lot. Nice to be able to choose a t-shirt or medal.

In short: Good if you're local
In full: I enjoy this race as a local. Nice speedy course, bit lumpy and bumpy at the start, pot holes and speed bumps. Don't like the fact that the pavement is so undulating for a large part of the course plus several minor road crossings. Good organisation at the bag drop off. If you are nearby I recommend this, I wouldnt travel for it though.

In short: Fantastic views, very well organised
In full: I love this race. The orgnaisation was brilliant. Being able to wait before the start in a sports hall with good toilet facilities was an extra benefit. Really nice course with a few hills but nothing too terrible. I managed a PB which was a great surprise!

In short: Great run, shame about the start
In full: Repeating what so many others have said. I have done this race before and never seen such a mess at the start (couldn't drop my bag off as I had to queue for half an hour for the loos - and I was there early!) Was really irritated by the terrible start though - it took far too long to get over the line, seems those who played fair and and stood in the correct time bracket eneded up stuck behind slower runners. Meant I had to work twice as hard to get to any PB. Once past the start I did love the course, nice atmosphere on the way round. I hope they manage to resolve the issues for next year.

In short: Race ok, the trimmings could have been better
In full: I am sure that so many people have commented on the lack of toilets that i don't need to go on too long there. Good that they would transfer your bags from start to finish - pretty long walk from finish in the rain - race itself was reasonably challenging, scenery was ok but it was too towny for the beginning chunk for my liking. Ok, race but didn't really have any spark to it. I would not drive the 25 miles again to repeat next year.
