In short: Good, worth turning up for.
In full: I thought it was a good venue, could be a bit of a challenge in bad weather but as a post Christmas race it shook out a few cobwebs.

In short: Should be called the Lee on Solennt and disused naval establishment half marathon
In full: This was a disappointment, the start was awfull, starting of on the road then being forced into a bottle neck for about a mile so overtaking was difficult, the Deadalus section was a grind, who the hell wants to run through an abandond barracks twice? it was flat and toraly uninspiring and the bottle neck at the start was just a killer for anyone trying for a PB.

In short: I think this may be my last GSR
In full: Once again it was too late in the year with the weather being too unpredictable. the Wave stars are a good idea or would be if they did sort out the the fast from the moderate and the slow runners but there were runners up front who had not intention of trying but were holding back faster runners who wanted to make a race of it.

In short: Good race, challenging
In full: I only found out about it the day before and decide to enter at the last moment as I'd planned to try anothr venue, I'm pleased I did'nt.I thought it was a good race, a good atmosphere, helped by the weather. There were some long hills, not too steep but long enough. Water stations halfway and the free fruit at the finish was most welcome, I'm looking forward to doing it again.

In short: Chip timing was good
In full: The race was OK, the finnish was well organised but the "Results" and prize awarding was a bit below par. Not giving the results 1st, 2nd etc in categories on the print outs lead to some confusion and grouping some of the categories into 10years was not popular.

In short: Cold ,wet and windy.
In full: It has the potential to be a very good race but, nobody can control the weather. Same as last year the wind was in your face for a lot of the time. The start was a bit "iffy" as it seemed to take a lot of runners by surprise and the timing display at the finishing gate wasn't working.
I PB'd but didn't really enjoy the race but that says more about me than the event.
Overall it was good and I will enter again.

In short: One short and two long laps, could be boring.
In full: I enjoyed it but then I PD'd. It not too far from home and I do like running by the sea. One very short and two long laps, could be boring for slower runners but it was well organised and the good weather helped. Once through the water side and marina area the scenery became bland and suburban, time to conentrate on a bit of speed. In to the second lap and you know what to expect so you can just go for it, there are no surprises and nothing to prevent a PB over the distance a good race for novices too. I will be trying a PB again next year.

In short: A good race, not over suscribed and something for all levels
In full: I enjoyed the mix of road and track/trail, not too hard on the ankles. The weather being fine and not too hot was a plus. The famous New Forest ponies joining in for a short while shortley after the start was an added attraction though I think one or two people were a bit nervous.

In short: All the races I take part in lead up to the GSR
In full: This was my 3rd GSR and due to the weather the most challenging, despite that I achieved a PB. It was well organised and as usual friendly. I definately want to take part next year, the day after my 55th birthday.

In short: Good ,mostly off road, no traffic.
In full: This was my first New forest 10 and I really enjoyed it, I did manage a pb which surprised me and the weather did turn for the better. One or two niggles, not enough toilets and the water at the stations was a bit ugh!. The horse brass medal looks good on the wooden beam in my living room. I will enter again.
