In short: Fast and flat course, well run event. In full: Well organised by runners for runners over a mainly flat out and back course. Headwind on the way back made things tough but that's a bit outwith the officials' control. Changing facilities are a little sparse. Date of review: April 29, 2008
In short: Can't fault it, great race. Well done Lochaber. In full: As we have come to expect, Lochaber team put on a great race as usual. I lost it in the heat but then somethings are just beyond even the best organising committee. Wish I could have appreciated the fantastic scenery a bit more at the time. In short: Good old fashioned, no frills club race with good PB potential. In full: The course is not flat but is definitly worth considering if you are in the hunt for a fast time. Well organised and marshalled throughout and attracts a good quality field. Think that the entry fee is a bit steep though since all you get at the finish is a cup of water. Was told by one member of the host club that it only cost their runners £1 to enter and wonder if this influences the price for the rest of the field. Date of review: November 20, 2007
In short: Fantastic scenery and good organisation make the trip well worthwhile. In full: Great race but got caught out a bit by the course being a lot tougher than I had envisaged. Can't remember any flat bits and would not have been looking for a PB had I had known what it was like. Plenty support on route and at stadium finish, nice medal and tee shirt. Only gripe was that it was a bit chaotic at the toilets at the start and due to the rush didn't get much chance for pre-race preparation. Date of review: October 29, 2007
In short: Well organised, small friendly event to suit all standards. In full: Thanks again to everyone for another well run event. The friendliness of all involved in the organising team from race officials and marshalls to the tea ladies and Police cyclists is a credit to the Dumfries area. See you next year. In short: Worth the journey, great day out but don't look for a PB! In full: The mainly off road course is a real challenge of both fitness and navigation skills. Good event with some nice touches. Date of review: September 9, 2007
In short: Well organised, flat course with good PB potential. In full: Enjoyed the race, even the rain! Good mainly flat course but hated that last mile and the soggy Shinty pitch finish. Thanks to all the marshalls, officials and those who manned the drinks stations for keeping cheery on a dour day for officiating. Date of review: April 24, 2007
In short: Well organised, friendly and great value. Great race for all standards. In full: Very slick and well organised race. Well done to all involved. In common with many others the only down point was the start, an overhead banner would let runners know where and when they crossed the line and would perhaps let some of the slower runners realise that they were too near the 'sharp end' at the start.
