In short: Well done AVR, hills, beach, descents, ascents even a ford all in the dark: fantastic fun In full: What fantastic fun - friendly but challenging event. Starts as night falls so a totally different challenge. Cliff tops, descent to the sea, running along the beach, up and down hills (who put the styles at the top of those steps!) lit only by the stars and your head torch. Well marked with tape and LED lights at tricky points and well marshalled - what a friendly bunch. I'll be back next year! Date of review: March 26, 2012

In short: Great race, great views (when you could look up) and good organisation In full: I travelled a couple of hours to get to this race and it was worth it. Good organisation and supportive marshals. Particular thanks go to the marshals by the trig point bearing the brunt of the rain and the wind. Fantastic views when you could look up - lots of foot watching as you go over plenty of boggy, muddy sections and slippy rocks and stones. A really great hilly trail race. Bacon butties, soup, tea and cakes at the finish were very welcome. Well done Weston. Date of review: October 10, 2011

In short: Lovely run, friendly marshals and well organised In full: A really good event, great support from all the marshals, plenty of water (the most water stations I have ever seen in a 10k because of the loops), special mention too to the marshal on the left hand turn who was smiling and encouraging to everyone. Good turn out from supporters which was great to see. Tough climb and knowing you had to go up the market hill for a third time was hard going - but it has got to be a bit tought to make you feel good. Well done Framlingham Flyers. In short: Great organisation from MRC, good atmosphere, mud and water made it entertaining in sections, great views and downhill to the finish and tea In full: Really enjoyed this run, a cold day and wet and muddy in places making it a strength sapping event. But a great atmosphere and if you love trail running then you would love this, just the right type of 'challenging'. Marlborough Running Club organise some fantastic events and I am happy to travel to compete in them and this was no different, friendly and supportive marshals and tea and cake at the finish - what more could you want. In short: What a fantastic event - well organised, stunning views and a good challenge In full: This was my first time running this event and running 20 miles. I couldn't have picked a better event - the organisation was really good, marshals were all friendly and encouraging, there were plenty of water stations with juice, biscuits, jelly beans etc and even tea at one stop. The route was undulating with a few good hills but not too challenging and we couldn't have been luckier with the weather. I hope to make this an annual event. Well done Marlborough Running Club. In short: Fantastic event - tough tough run but great location and atmosphere In full: This was a tough tough race - within the first mile I realised it was never going to be about time but all about getting over the finish line. Fantastic atmosphere, a Samba Band that played us over the start line and carried on till we were all back home. Friendly marshals, plenty of water stops and encouragement and plenty of cheers as you came in to the finish. The hills were relentless and by 6.5 miles I had virtually nothing left so don't know how I got to the finish. But what a sense of achievement when you do! Well done to the organisers, one of the best events I have ever taken part in. Date of review: May 10, 2010

In short: Relaxed atmosphere, well organised, low key, all in all a great event In full: Really enjoyed this race: a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, well organised and efficient. If you like running off road and enjoy a few hills this is the one for you. Have to agree the last hill was hard work - just about got to the top, thanks to the two other runners who encouraged me to keep running those last few metres. Date of review: April 25, 2010

In short: Wet, windy and some hills! But a warm welcome, good atmosphere and friendly marshals In full: Did this in the wind and rain last year and back again for more. Wet at the start and then half way round, plenty of playful hills on route but this is a fantastic part of the country to come running. Smooth organisation, smiling friendly marshals all the way round and good company. Nice atmosphere. I'll be back again. Date of review: November 29, 2009

In short: Friendly fun but challenging race in beautiful setting In full: I did this race last year and was back again as it really is a friendly and challenging event. Managed to go wrong at one point and add a mile or so to my route but this isn't an event where I'm aiming for a PB so didn;t really matter. Tea and cakes at the end very welcome. Thanks to all the organisers and friendly marshals along the route. I'll be back next year. Date of review: September 21, 2009

In short: Great race, great organisation and some hills! Thanks Eastleigh RC In full: This is a really great race. Nice venue, fun run a good event for the children; all well organised, friendly club, plenty of water stops and provision. Primary school pictures at Owslebury lovely. It is tough as there are plenty of hills in the first half but that makes for an interesting event. My 5th time running this event and I will definately be back next year, thanks Date of review: March 23, 2009
