In short: Very impressive race
In full: My friend and I used this as a training run but were very impressed with organisation- typical of 2:09 events. Course was well marked and marshalls were very encouraging. Not just a 'turn up and run' race like previous ones I've done in Delamere; they justified the entry fee with race announcer, inflatable finish with a warm welcome, timing chip, two drinks stops and medal. The previous reviewer's comment about the goody bag is a bit unfair- it was what one expects from such a race- bottle of water and a few bars/energy snacks and an isotonic drink powder sachet. Will definitely do this one again.

In short: Brilliant race made very tough by the conditions
In full: I imagine doing this race in good conditions would be a pleasure but, in the heat, it turned into a bit of a battle. The organisation was fantastic. My friend and I arrived a bit late after being sent to the wrong place by TomTom. We phoned ahead and the race organiser was waiting with our numbers for us when we arrived and was really helpful. There was a good bit of banter during the race and the marshalls were fantastic with encouragement and much-needed cold sponges. Will definitely return to this one but hopefully it will be a bit cooler next year. Well done to Mr Milne et al for a tremendous effort in putting on this race.

In short: Was apprehensive beforehand but then loved every minute!
In full: I was a bit nervous about the hills but they weren't as bad as I expected, although the heat did take its toll. The scenery was breath-taking and the atmosphere was very friendly with lots of people turning out to cheer you on. Will definitely be back next year.

In short: Tough but thoroughly enjoyable
In full: A fantastic race- the tea and cakes at the end were very welcome. Nic to see local people out supporting around the course. The finish was a bit hard but will definitely come back. A great day all round.

In short: Fantastic views are the memento
In full: Perfect weather to enjoy the spectacular views. I felt it was a bit steep to charge £10 for this as there was no t-shirt/medal. Not quite sure what the money went towards as the roads were open and there was only one water stop (plastic cups). Tea and sandwiches were provided at the end but this cost £1.50. That said, the race itself was great and I would definitely do it again.

In short: My first marathon- it was a special day!
In full: The organisation was fantastic. I found the second Greenway slog very tough and could have done with some more spectator support but, understandably, most people had headed to the finish line. I think I want to try some different marathons but I will definitely be back in a few years. The medal was great and I didn't mind paying for a good quality hoody at the end as a memento. All round the heat made it tough but it was a great rave to do.
