In full: Nice introductory race for off road running.Could be difficult with more rain.Uneven surfaces but not hilly. Very well organised and marshalls were extremely supportive.Could be a good outing for the whole family with the gala.

In short: Not a race for a first time marathon!
In full: I ended up doing the half instead of the full because I hurt my ankle but to be honest, I was relieved-this race is rock hard and you need to either a)have no sense of danger or b)not care about landing on your head or c)both.
Great scenery but there could have been more warning about the self navigation as there weren't very many marshalls.More water stations needed too (each one I got to had run out and were waiting for more).
Organisers and marshalls were very friendly though and there were food and drinks available.

In short: Probably not a first timers race but there are enough downhills to make up for the uphills!
In full: I really enjoyed this race and the 'last hill' sign encouraged me too. I was late (don't ask!)and everyone had already set off when I arrived; everyone was lovely though: "they've gone that way!", "come on, you can catch them up", "how has that girl got so far behind already?"! Band halfway round was also a welcome distraction!
