In short: nothing bad but nothing too exciting either.
In full: Fairly predictable "club" race. Nice enough course and very well marshaled. The start was chaotic with marshals shouting at runners to get off the road and the HQ as quite a hike from the actual start/finish area and an even further trek from the recommended parking. Would do it again purely because it's a rare event - not that many 10 milers around and not that many races in January in the area.

In short: Glorious views made up for the climbs. A lovely race!
In full: This race had a very friendly feel. (one chap was awarded a cake after the race as it was his 65th birthday!). Tough course but not tough enough to stop some excellent times from the leading pack. The magnificent scenery and good organisation all contributed towards making a very enjoyable event. Please do it again next year Dirt Running.

In short: Nice course, shame about the start.
In full: The start was chaotic, this was not helped by someone trying to drive through a few seconds before the race started. First few metres were on slippery, muddy grass at the side of the path as the path was too narrow for the large field of runners. Yes, the marshals were lovely but that's not really high on my list of priorities. Otherwise a well organised race and a nice course.

In short: Well done Bedford Harriers
In full: Bedford Harriers certainly know how to organise a race. Didn't use the bus transfer but that seemed to go like clockwork too. Well done Bedford - you always get it right.

In short: What no medal?
In full: Have run this race before and received a mug as a memento but to receive nothing at the end was a little depressing. And I mean nothing: no medal, no "well done", no chip timing, no warm hall with award presentations nearby. This is a fast course for club runners who just want to get out there and get their times. Fair enough, I personally prefer a bit more atmosphere. On the plus side, the results were published very quickly.

In short: Yes it was tough!
In full: Tough hills but a lovely course on quiet country lanes. Excellent organisation and super efficient marshals who were very vocal in their support to the runners. A bit quiet overall but the atmosphere is bound to get better when word gets out and numbers increase. Well done LBAC.

In short: Glorious scenery, friendly club, but there was a downside.
In full: The course was fantastic with glorious views up on the high ground. Marshals and those helping at HQ were all very friendly. I had no problem with navigating the course myself but saw several groups go the wrong way at two different points the half marathon towards the end of the race, meaning they must have cut off a good chunk of the 13 miles. Although I appreciate it didn't change my personal time this does seem to make the results completely meaningless and slightly took the shine off what could have been a great event.

In short: A nice friendly race, I agree the hills seemed to go down more than up, and managed a pb so very pleased.
