In short: Its the sunday long run, with an edge!!!!
In full: Traffic free 13.1 miles makes the race a real pleasure, to have the width of the road at your disposal makes for a relaxed run. It is one of the best organised races that i have run with absolutely loads of volunteers along the whole lenght of the course. Last year i spoke to the organiser after the race and said that the only slight niggle with the whole race, and i mean small! was the last couple of miles on the path which was in a poor state and a little tight. He said that he was aware of it after a couple of similar comments and would have a look at getting it on the road but it is a very busy A road. How often do things like that get sorted? well it was! this year the full 13 on the road, that speaks volumes for the team that organise the race. His partner Nicola who is part of the team was at the finish to congratulate every one as they crossed the line and its small things like these that make all the difference. Its a great race, well organised, friendly and fun and there is even a bike marshall to pick up the injured! It has the potential to become a bigger race year on year but i feel it will never be allowed to turn into a monster as that goes against everything it stands for.

In short: Superb organisation,starts/finishes in lovely village, beautiful scenery, very friendly, just seems to get bigger every year
In full: This one of the best organised and truly enjoyable races in the area and extremely challanging so when you complete it you get a real sense of achievement,it doesn,t matter what standard you are at this is a realy enjoyable test and the after race buzz when you,ve beaten your course PB and genuine dissapointment when you,ve missed out because of the 40 seconds lost on the easier!!!!!!! 2nd half of the course. The presentation is at a lovely village pub The Blacksmith arms which is a Brucie bonus!!!
