In short: Ekkkkkkkkkkk In full: Lots of praise for the marshalls topping up their suntans. Bottled water is always a plus, even if icecreams given the weather would have been nicer. See you next year. Date of review: September 14, 2009

In short: Both the wife & I had a good time, but from the other comments I do feel sorry for the slower runners. In full: Apart from the comments about running out of drinks, jelly babies, medals etc which was shocking to read about, we had a good time. My wife's Garmin did read that the course was 13.25 miles. I managed to get my first water bottle with the lid still on, which i managed to hold on to until 11 miles, I was told that this was not the case for others & it was the same for Lucozade, maybe if they still had the lids on, people would not have to check them away so quickly. I managed to smash my pb by 3 1/2 minutes to 1hr 41 ish. We ran this as a veiw of dealing with the people traffic for the 2008 FLM, & we both felt that it helped with our fear of elbow barging for the 2008 FLM. In general it was on the dear side, but we both felt that it was worth it for what we are about to do in 6 weeks time. God help us!! Date of review: March 3, 2008

In short: Very good race In full: I actually like the "upslopes" which added to the race. Until we hit the country roads I found it a little annoying running around the housing estates, but there again there are worse places to be running in life!.
As ever the wife finished at head of me in 72 minutes, but I managed to aeroplane my way across the finshing line in just under 77 minutes a pb for me & 4 minutes faster than my last 10 miler in Bishop's Storford. Woo Hoo. Sadly now the training starts for the FLM 08. Gulp. Date of review: December 31, 2007

In short: A long way from the HQ In full: This was the first 10 mile race that both my wife & I had run since 2000!, but that didn't stop the wife from grabbing the prize for 3rd V35 home. Thankfully it wasn't raining as that would have made a torrid race. Overall It was a long way from the HQ to the start but thankfully we had our race support crew to help us out. Plus side, It was a nice course with a few hills to work my legs out on & it was mostly traffic free. Down side, The distance from the HQ to start/finish. Overall. I enjoyed it, and the chocoalte cake was fab! See you next year!

2007 CPM Thame 10K

In short: 2nd year running at Thame at least I was faster than last year In full: A good course with some good ups & downs as ever the hill at the end is a bit of a killer on weary legs. I was trying for 45mins but as ever i was just under 2 minutes out. Marshalls with pom poms were as uplifting as ever. My only gripe is with the "goody bag" which in the words of Sir Alan Sugar was full of toot, between the wife & I we had 5 packs of mint gum! and a little thing which reminds me to eat apples!! The t-shirt however was fab, as it managed to keep of the wind & rain this year compared to the sun last year. But overall it was a fab race with nearly 900 people entered. In short: Hot, Sweaty with lots of those dastardly hills In full: I must admit my training for this was below par, & i stumbled in at around 1 hr 52. As ever the wife finished 15 mins before me. Good Points lots & lots of water stations, very good marshalls & police presence. I thought that Nicey & Smashy on the PA system were interesting to say the least! Roll on next year I think. 2007 Quintiles Bracknell Half Marathon

In short: Very well organised race, with enough water stations In full: First timer to Bracknell, I would agree with the lack of loos, but this is a regular occurrence at races!
A well thought out course that had some hills & made the most of avoiding Bracknell town center.
Both the wife & I managed PB's 1 hour 44 34 for me, and 1 hour 34 min 38 for the wife, who even if she got a pb was a bit gutted to come 11th fastest woman overall, and 4th in her age group. If only I had that problem! Date of review: April 30, 2007

In short: Fab Location In full: Unlike some of the others, we arrived early so beat all of those rushing around at the start. Great setting for a race, it's a pity thay didn't let you run through the lions enclosure, I'm sure that there is an EU law against doing that! Hilly in places, but I prefer that to sharp bends as in some races. Good K markers, except those who has fallen foul of the weather or those pesky animals who were after some souvenirs had stolen them. Great drive around the park afterwards as we had the support team on board, i.e. the outlaws. Might be back in October subject to any marathon plans the wife might have in mind for "us" to do.
