In short: Great support in the rainy south
In full: Really enjoyed this. Weather appauling, but fellow runners great fun at the line up, support ace - despite the awful weather. Car park exit was very good from the race (much, much improved on last year). Cried like a baby as I got a good PB. Apologies to all those witnessing the pathetic blubbing - it comes off the back of a horrid half marathon/cold and desire to never run again.

In short: boring and agony
In full: Apologies to the 2 runners I tripped one mile in. Not sure about hitting the wall but certainly hit the pavement. 6 miles till the nearest ambulance - a painful, walk jog to the finish line.

Boring race with no support. No goodie bag. Not one to repeat.

My view may be jaundiced due to the "character building" nature of it.

In short: Too many walkers, needs a staggered start
In full: Naughtily, and remembering starting at the back last year due to adherance to the rules, I jumped the queue to get to the start this year.

Even still, despite being pnly 250 yards from the start line and elite runners, I passed walkers were toddling up the street, about 450m into the race. They must have been on the front line-up.

Although I suffered horribly with my asthma due to the weather and an over eager early pace, I was able to clock a more or less respectable time due to the majority of people moving out of the way, or allowing me the space to jump off course, puff inhaler/wheeze, jump on course. This was not the case at the rear.

As usual, the scrum for goodie bags was silly, but I felt this was a million miles from the badly organised 2006 fiasco.

Still too expensive and should be chipped.

In short: 30 mins to get to the start line, entire route surrounded by walkers, 31 degrees and no water (as we started so late), bags/finish/medals shambles. Never again.
