In short: An enjoyable 1st 10km run
In full: A very good first ever 10k run, albeit slow, due to running at my usual half-marathon pace & the works 'do'the night before at Garstang Golf Club.

In short: Never experienced anything like this before.
In full: Brilliant run, but being mostly a road runner found it hard on the toes & balls of the feet through running on the ripples of the sand. The extreme heat sapped your strength & you were glad to go through the water to cool off,but again this made running harder with wet trainers & socks.
Only grumble was the distance markers, there were none to see after 4 miles.
Brilliant experience & friendly runners :- first class run !!!!
