In short: That's Better!! In full: Not sure why I entered this race, Cardiff 1/2 in the past has been a shambles and I'm not a fan of City runs. But I entered because it's my home town and I was pleasantly surprised. The organisation was no nonsense and easy, the course I thought despite not being lightening quick was good, no bottle necks big wide roads and great support. The finish area was well managed with plenty of room to collect a decent goody bag and plenty of available drinks, which then fed straight to the baggage pick up and then on to burger bar. all in all a good morning run. In short: Well organised,no frills! In full: Not a run if you like your scenery but a good allround race. I can understand how this is a PB course but the wind in the second half took the edge off a bit. Thanks to all the marshalls, friendly and helpful and the local support was great. In short: A good ultra to start with. In full: My first Ultra which turned out to be a great experience. It was suitably tough which you expect from running 50miles but not an absolute killer. Really friendly lots of people to chat to which helps when your on your feet all day. My only small gripe was the extra 1.5miles, the longest 1.5 I've ever run. Date of review: May 26, 2011

In short: Hot In full: Terrific organisation, hats off to all the marshalls, St Johns, Waterstation people and everyone involved. Support was great and a great course. T Shirt wasn't the best, it would be nice to have a shirt that could be worn! But the price we pay for this event it's a bargain and there are plenty of shirts to pick from at Excel if you really want one. I'm determined to get a sub 3 at this event one day so any chance we can move the event a month or so forward so it's a bit cooler?? ;-) Date of review: April 20, 2011

In short: I said never again lastyear. In full: All aspects of the organisation was spot on, the Marshalls were excellent and plenty of water stations. Its just the course doesn't do it for, I can't put my finger on it why but I run faster on much harder courses. It's just down to personal preference don't let me put you off, it's a great Marathon for first timers and vets alike. See you next year! Date of review: October 17, 2010

In short: Tough as heck... In full: Excellent course, very challenging some parts I had to really dig deep it was tough. The views from the top were worth it though but going down was just as hard. Organisation as spot on, no hassles at all and a good tee shirt to finish. Date of review: May 16, 2010

In short: Magnificent Atmosphere, Memorable. In full: Having had a bad experience in 2007 I had a pretty dim view of this event but this year put it all right, it couldn't have been better this time round. Although I do agree with a lot of reviews saying about people jumping the start pens and I even witnessed one or two 'runners' physically pushing past the marshalls, it's nothing more than selfish. Small things, eh? Date of review: April 26, 2010

In short: A Good Run for all standards. In full: A well organised run, good weather and good support. Ideal for taking the family and friends along because of the nature of the route but it can be a little off putting for runners doubling back and passing the finish line at the 8 mile mark. As for the complaints about the traffic, the organisers did ask/warn people to try and get to the Headquarters an hour before the start time(I assume to allow for traffic and any other hold ups), which I think the majority of people did and then wait patiently an extra 15minutes on the start line.

In short: Got my new Daps dirty, didn' I... In full: Well organised, very friendly and no major problems. Could have been a lot faster but the conditions under foot for the first half of the race was quite wet and muddy, but this is Wales in February. All in all a good morning runnng.
