In short: Excellent Fun
In full: Another top event from Chris and his merry band of helpers.

These are low key fun events, I was even allowed to bring my dog along to do the event with me.

The event comprises of four loops from an old railway carriage (now converted into a Cafe / Bike Hire centre), following a route description along quiet footpaths and the 'Greenway'; a former railway track.

I can highly recommend these events (Chris also organises one in the Cotswolds; Illmington, and a couple at Christmas), as they are great fun.

Cheers.

In short: Fab Event
In full: Thanks to DK Running Club for another fantastic event.

This years event was delayed from January, due to the snow, and the day was glorious if a little cold.

Fortunately after last years rain the fields have started to dry up, and the ground was quite good under foot.

I had an absolute shocker, but still enjoyed it regardless.

Will be back next year, but would suggest a permanent move to March for this event as the weather was so much better.

In short: Muddy Splashy Fun
In full: A local event for non-local people !

Another excellent event from Denzil and Lucy.

Make no mistake, it's bloody tough doing 31 laps, but no-one said Marathons would be easy.

The recent rain made for some very wet conditions underfoot in places, but added to the fun.

It's a very well organised, fun race, with an excellent medal and beer glass. Combine this with a baked spud and chilli (Beans for the vegetarians), make this one well worth doing.

In short: Another Excellent Broadmeadow Event
In full: This is the second of Chris's events that I have done, and they have both been excellent.

The organisation and camaraderie is fantastic, with no big egos and plodders welcomed as much as the elite.

The route are followed with a route description, written in Chris's inimitable style, and refreshments are plentiful (Stella at 22.5 miles anyone ?).

All followed up with a group meal at the One Elm in stratford, what better way to spend a weekend before Christmas.

Have already signed up for the Good Friday event, and should this be on next year, and health permitting, I shall definitely be back.

In short: Very Disappointing
In full: This was the second time I've done this event, so I knew about the cattle grids and toilets etc etc.

What was criminal today was the almost 'complete' lack of event support (The poor suffering cadets aside), given that the weather was horrendous I would have expected more support and/or first aiders.

I passed one guy who had hurt his knee, after asking I promised to mention his plight at the next marshalling point.

Only trouble was, I couldn't find any one. The next guy I came across was 'The Timing Mat' guy.

People could have died in those conditions.

Deeply disappointing and potentially dangerous.

In short: Simply stunning
In full: What a fantastic event.

The scenery was awesome, the people friendly, the sarnies sublime.

Quite simply one of the best events I have done.

Give it a go.

In short: Stunning Scotland
In full: My second time at this iconic event, and I thoroughly enjoyed.

Managed a better time than 4 years ago, which was a bonus.

Couldn't fault this event, and will be back in future years to tackle the 'monster' again.

In short: The Last Skelter ?
In full: Second time I have done this event, and possibly the last if the organisers decide to discontinue it.

Nice gently undulating route, good route description, some stunning views, and some of the best food I've encountered on an LDWA walk.

The folks from Vermuyden are very friendly and welcoming too, it's a crying shame that this may have been the last one.

A great send off.
