In short: Well done but a pretty tough marathon
In full: Well organised - enthusiastic team - bonkers medal, but don't come here looking for a PB - hilly.

If you're just finding your feet in marathoning or some kind of elite, then maybe a PB course, otherwise I'd advise not using this to crack that elusive PB.

Honestly - 17 laps of an up and down track can be pretty demoralising if things aren't going well.

Loved the enthusiasm of the organisers, and some cool touches like the motivational chap running the course in the opposite direction.

I think the drinks station could have been handled better, it was at the top of a long incline and people were just stopping, and really causing a problem.

It would work better for the station staff to ask them to walk through and then stop.

Still a really nicely done race.

In short: Nice race with some big upsides
In full: Liked this one - pretty flat course with definite pb potential. So many things were spot on - in future years however I'd make it clearer where runners start from, and also the finish funnel marker was not obvious, the race clock was on 40 when I stopped (I started behing this_ but somehow was 40:48 on my time. This was probably down to it not being clear where the finish line was.

Still great race and will do again.

In short: Nice race, good pb potential and well organised
In full: Really rated this race, very simple to take part in with little pressure , well organised with some lovely sea views.
Flat course and runner friendly rain made this a great PB opportunuty.

Special mention for free lucozade sport (nice touch).

Really nice to run a course in a place where I'd spent so many holidays as a nipper, and the tower looked so impressive with just its top poking out of the mist.

The only (small) downside was the website and course map (not clear), but all in all a great race and one I will do again.

ps - We stayed in the Holmecliffe hotel which was excellent and literally 100 yards away from the start. Great place that we will use again.

In short: Nicely set up and a good course
In full: First time I've run the D10k and there are lots of good things about it. Nicely set up with minimal pressure, nice to see the locals out and cheering on the runners and the course has a nice mix of long inclines and also long declines. The only snag I found was that the finish wasn't clear from the website maps, so I set off for a strong finish way too early, luckily managed to find some more reserves from where I don't know. But would definitely run it again.

The only other snag was falling foul (no punn intended) of walking to the front of a huge loo queue and feeling very embarrassed when another runner said "there's a queue mate", and after turning around saw a lomg snaking mass of people looking justfiably peturbed - honestly I didn't see you!
