In short: Ashby de la whooooosh
In full: First time running in preparation for London Marathon. Fantastic organisation the marshals were great - though there were quite a few liars on the course promising a downhill section 'soon'. I never found the mythical downhill part! You really felt so well looked after, encouragement and cheers all the way around, plentiful supplies of all manner of carbohydratey sweetness,a loud hailer welcome cross the finish line, someone to congratulate you by name, a goody bag that lived up to its name- and I even won a spot prize - how superfantastic! Thank you to all involved - you are lovely, lovely people

In short: Canaltastic
In full: Having only ever done big city half marathons this made an interesting change. Liked the staggered start - not so keen on my continued staggering, but this was due to the heat and my lack of training.

Also - do canal bridges really need to be so steep - they is evil little buggers.

The organisation, the goody bag and the marshalls were fantastic.

My performance was shocking - a PW, so I'm guessing I'll be back to try again and to make the most of pub discounts and an excuse to go shopping in Birmingham.

Could you turn the sun down and the clouds up for next year please - race organisers can do that sort of stuff can't they??????

In short: It's all been said
In full: Can frogive the quagmire and the delay but I can't understand the need for the chaotic and down right dangerous ending. Why try to funnel so many people into such a narrow walk way when runners could exit staight out the back of the race on to Great Pultney Street so aleviating all the problems we encountered. If I wasn't a local I wouldn't be entering this again, I will need a little convincing that things will be better next year.

Some great crowd support, course marshalls and water/lucozade volunteers - thank you

In short: A couple of hills for a flat course - but great!
In full: The course goes past my house twice and having been a supporter for many years I thought it was time to run the thing. Thanks to all the supporters - especially those on the Lower Bristol Road opposite Matty's Cafe - they didn't just cheer their mates! There will never be enough toilets and you'll never keep everyone happy, but there are plenty of cafes and hotels really near by people could have gone to. Thanks for a really well organised race - they even came to take the signs down that evening! I have no gripes, but why did it feel like I had to run up a hill to get up to and round Queen's Square, up to the turn around at the end of the Upper Bristol Road and at the end!!??? ;0)

I will be back next year - it was great.

In short: A good windy day!
In full: Nice crowd, good for the spectators to have a warm room and a bacon butty on such a cold windy day. Thanks for a well organised race. Only gripe is to move the table so people can get into the social centre at the beginning.
I got a PB so will hopefully be back next year to improve on it!
