In short: Lovely scenery but miserable marshals and not enough water In full: I did the 20 miles, 2 laps of a scenic albeit undulating course. The water stations were in very odd locations - 2, 9, 12 and 19 miles - it was nice to have a drink at 19 miles but a water station between 12 and 19 miles would have been nice, especially on such a warm day and when many runners doing to longer distance want to take a gel which requires water. The marshals were terrible - they did not smile or shout any encouragement and the ones at the water stations weren't ready to hand out water and seem somewhat surprised when you stopped running and asked for some water!! The organiser on the bike was an exception to this as he was very friendly and encouraging. It would have been useful to have some more information about the race at the start and on the website - when I asked if there was a map of the course available I was told that there was only one which they couldn't find. Perhaps a bit ambitious to try and organise 5/6 races on the same day - hopefully the organisers will learn from their experiences and next year will be better organised. In short: Well organised event In full: Very well organised event - medal and mars bar at the finish, as well as free lucozade goodies. Tea and an array of homemade cakes on sale at the end. The first part of the course is a bit mundane around the business park, but after 3 miles it gets more interesting into the countryside and around a small villlage. Lots of marshalls and water stations, as well as local support around the course. Date of review: April 6, 2010
