In short: Excellent organisation, cheerful marshalls, very few supporters but passers-by offered support and encouragement

In short: Could have been wonderful
In full: As has been said before the weather was not the best but this was outside the organisers control. The cadets were wonderful, handing out water and gels and providing support all the way round.
The course does not lend itself to mass support but those who did turn out were most appreciated clapping us round.
The venue itself is spectacular and it could be an absolutely wonderful event.
The downsides: no space blankets at the end, no medal. Given the (lack of) facilities and goody bag provided it seem hard to justify the entry fee but then I don't know how much Anglia Water charge to organisers to allow the event to take place.
