In short: A very special event
In full: In general an exceptionally well organised race. Despite the huge numbers involved, it goes like clockwork. Even the weather seems to be booked well in advance!
The water and Powerade bottles were too big. Bottles half that size would have been fine and less wasteful.
My only reall grumble is the baggage buses. Not convinced that double deck buses are the answer - very messy to find your bag. And coding them on the colour of your starting/finishing time is potty. When I finished there was nobody looking for bags on pink/white/green coded buses. But the queues for the orange buses ran to 30-40 people. Go back to choosing the first bus you come to.

In short: Great event. Well organised. A LOT of runners leading to bottlenecks. Very lucky with the weather
In full: Unless you start at the front you will not get a PB, but that aside it is a worthwhile run because of the atmosphere. The organisers seem to have coped well with the increasing numbers except for baggage handling which seems to have become overwhelmed

In short: A flat straightforward race. Scenery ranged from housing estate to one of the world's finest buildings. Friendly crowd
In full: As we were visiting Lincoln and staying in a local hotel, I cannot comment on the parking facilities. But the race seemed to go OK. The course is flat and scenery varied from housing estate banality to the glory of the cathedral via a Roman arch. With a castle finish thrown in. The cobbles at the end were my main grumble. Matting would help. In wet weather they would be lethal. No goody bag and no tee shirt but a nice medal. Not great value for money but not outrageous in comparison with other events.

In short: This is an event. Not a race. And as such the crowds, the bands, the whole atmosphere make it a great event
In full: A better start system this year, but the pens got very crowded. Perhaps they should be bigger next year. The start seemed smoother, without falling over walkers within sight of the start line. Seemed to be plenty of water and sports drink stations. Plenty of loos at the start and along the course. Decent crowds along the way. And the bus back to Newcastle established a new PB! Overall an excellent event. But if you want to run fast - go somewhere else
