In short: Well organised race on challenging and picturesque route. In full: Most of the reviews have said it all. A thoroughly enjoyable event on tough terrain, but totally traffic-free and very picturesque (if you can appreciate the scenery through muddy eyes, misty from the effort!). Great to have to kids fun run too, my 10 year old really loves her first ever finisher's medal. Well done to the first-time organisers. Date of review: February 26, 2011

2009 Beddington Park 10K Fun Run

In short: Fast and flat on a still though wet morning. Lack of wind meant the showers didn't hinder speed at all In full: Being a bit dubious about these short course comments (and lacking a Garmin thingy) I used Google Earth to measure the course (the turns at the tree and lamp post are plainly visible). Despite the fact there's some wishful thinking here (I ran a fast time I'm anxious to ratify!) the mapping tool measured the lap as 2.49km. This obviously can't rival a proper measuring wheel on the ground for accuracy but, let's face it, the number is pretty close. The Garmin measurement quoted in one post on this forum is well over a quarter of a mile short of 10km; surely this must be regarded as suspect? I've corresponded with the organisers today and they assure me the course has been properly measured on a number of occassions and that the marshals were posted in the right places! So, if you stayed on the paths, and ran round the tree and the lamp post, who says you haven't got a bona fide time? Date of review: November 29, 2009
