In short: Undulating - you mean steep then????? Brisk winter morning - steaming half way round!
In full: Arrived an hour early as advised, had no problems parking at the leisure centre and weren't expecting a friendly car park marshall to help us find a parking spot!
Lovely, friendly atmosphere. It was bitterly cold but the sun was shining which all added to the experience. Queue'd for the toilets but then found additional facilities in another building where we also found coffee to warm us up before the race!!
Start was a bit confusing but didn't spoil the experience.
Steep hills were v.v.v.v.v.v.v.v.v. challenging (well they were for me!), especially the last two in the last two miles - thanks to the chap who tried hard to motivate me up the last 1/4 mile - much appreciated. The hills were compensated by the long straight & downhill stretches which gave some welcome relief on the old ticker. Excellently marshalled - god knows why someone complained about the lack of marshalling on an earlier review - they must have run round the course with their eyes glued together!!

I didn't expect the local support on the route, it brought a smile to our faces (hubby & I) and some much needed motivation to push ourselves to the finish!!

Weren't expecting a t-shirt - wore it with pride all the way home, especially when shovelling the KFC fully-loaded down our necks at the service station.

Will definitely do the race again next year - well done to the organisers!!

In short: My first evehalf-mara & what a FANTASTIC day I had!!!!!
In full: As a beginner the GNR06 was my first ever half mara & I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the day!! Sharing stories with other runners on the Metro in the morning, high fives with the kids on route, the OGGIE...OGGIE...OGGIE of the runners running through the tunnels, the 1000's of supporters lining the route (even in the rain!), the friendly locals hosing you down or bringing oranges/biscuits & drinks right down to the Red Arrows flying overhead as you plod on towards the finish line. Every detail of the day made me feel that I was part of something very, very special!! I will definitely run this race again even if it is just to experience the flood of emotions that I experienced on Sunday!

In short: Fantastic day!!!!
In full: I was dreading the run as i was suffering with a new injury and wasn't sure if i would run or walk (I wore firm support just in case!). The atmosphere compelled me to give it a go & I'm glad i did - the run was lovely and the supporters were excellent, lining the route.
