In short: Well organised,friendly people
In full: I only spotted this race two hours before it started so only skimmed the details.Started to panic when we came across mile markers and after three miles asked a fellow runner if we were running 10k or 10miles. Got the reply that he`d entered a 10k race and wouldn`t be &*^%** happy if he had to do an extra four miles. If you`re reading this I`m sorry if I worried you because all was well on a pleasant rural, undulating course.

In short: I`ll be back next year!
In full: Despite being lured into running the first half of the race too fast I really enjoyed myself. The course is reasonably challenging, organisers were working hard but still managed to be pleasant to everyone and I think getting a T shirt amd a mars bar afterwards is absolutely ideal.

In short: Congratulations Overton
In full: Starting with the lady I spoke to the night before about entering everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. Add to that excellent value and organisation and you get a great race. The only reason I`ve marked down beginner friendliness is that it`s not easy especially for someone like me who is not used to running that far!

In short: Mixed feelings.
In full: I did the 10k and I have mixed feelings about this race. Yes it was very easy to get lost and there weren`t enough marshalls and crossing the roads wasn`t easy but this was all flagged up beforehand on the website.I would never have let my child do this race because of the roads and I did study the route very carefully before starting. People were friendly and most seemed to enjoy themselves but I can tell you from local knowledge that things would have been much harder and muddier if it hadn`t been a fine day.
I`m glad to have contributed to a good cause and I enjoyed myself but hopefully there will be another run next year and some changes will be made.

In short: not really as expected
In full: Not as expected because it was much, much better. Excellent atmosphere inside the Rose Bowl for all the family and very interesting for cricket enthusiasts. The course was a little harder than I expected but that`s good. No mile markers but for some reason I always run faster without them.
Organisation seemed excellent and everyone was very helpful and pleasant.A great way to spend a Sunday morning.

In short: Muddy, wet and windy and I still enjoyed it!
In full: I`ve only been running for six months and in that time it`s always been dry underfoot. Is a cross country half marathon always that hard? Several people had bad falls around me and I think my time of just over a couple of hours would have been fifteen minutes quicker on roads. However it was a memorable race with great scenery, organisation and a feeling of achievement at the end.

In short: Pleasant atmosphere and mix of abilities
In full: A bit boring going round the camp twice but the rest of the course was fine and perhaps the quickest course I`ve done so far.

In short: Good atmosphere, scenic course but hard running
In full: This was a hard race to run with a gravelly surface and hills where you didn1t need them. A most unlikely PB course but somehow I got one .Not the easiest course for beginners but there were plenty there and a great atmosphere.

In short: Very pleased I entered
In full: Last minute decision to enter - fully justified. It was hot but then it`s July and there was some shade to run in. Couldn`t believe how fast I was going for the first 6 or 7 k as it was mainly downhill and knew I would have to pay at some stage! Last 1500metres were hard but definitely a fast course. Thanks to everyone and I will be back next year and reccomend it.

In short: First ever race-surprised how friendly everyone was.
In full: As an over 55 in first ever race I was worried about hilly bits but they were overestimated and caused no problem.Went far too slowly to start but enjoyed it enormously. Can`t compare with other races but was pleased with friendliness and how everyone of different standards mixed together.
