In short: Tough but enjoyable 10-miler
In full: Thanks to the organisers and marshals for making this such a special event. I ran with a friend and we were both really impressed by the smiling and encouraging marshals (we needed their support after some of those hills). We'll be back!

In short: Enjoyable romp over scenic countryside
In full: A proper 10k trail race with gates & stiles to negotiate. Really friendly event that went off with no hitches at all. Would've been nice to have a medal but understand the aim is to raise money for a worthwhile charity. Congrats to the organisers and see you next year!

In short: Great race series for the veteran or novice!
In full: Well done Purple Patch on this series. I did the 5k as a set of time trials but I know a few of my friends mixed the races. It's a very flat course so made for speed, the only downsides being that you can see the whole route (can be demoralising if you're struggling) and you're at the mercy of the elements. Great atmosphere and really friendly.

In short: Great run, great fun!
In full: As always the Marlow 5 was run like clockwork. Congratulations and thanks to the organisers as well as the friendly and enthusiastic marshals! Great goody-bag with a proper runners t-shirt that will be worn by many. Thanks also to the locals who turned out to cheer everyone on - this really makes the atmosphere special.
All round a great morning. Big bonus was the results being on-line by lunchtime, great achievement!!

In short: Fab race, especially as it was their first time
In full: Wow, the weather couldn't have made it any more difficult could it?? Rain, hail, strong winds and so much mud, but is was great fun. Ran it slow with a friend today but will definitely be back to attack it next year. Friendly marshalls throughout (thank you). Only gripes were the long queues at the end and the exceptional distance to the loo's from the start.

In short: Great race in great surroundings
In full: My first time doing this one and I really enjoyed it. Everything was so friendly - organisers, marshalls and fellow competitors. The surroundings were fab too. Quite a challenging course but varied and fun. I'll definitely be back next year

In short: Great race, great organsation, great marshalls
In full: I loved this race last year and it was even better this year. Many thanks to the Frieth Hilly team for putting on an axcellent event that was great fun. The course is definitely challenging but the marshalls really help with their big smiles and encouragement (Henley 10k please take note). It's also the only race I do where the runners receive a blessing (and the vicar has a great sense of humour). As other reviewers have said this is definitely in my calenadar for next year!

In short: The marshalls were miserable!
In full: I did the 10k today and there were literally only 2 or 3 marshalls who even smiled let alone offered encouragement. I know they're volunteers but it really does make such a differene. Mess up at the finish too - guided onto the car park then it wasn't clear where to go, I'd been neck and neck with another runner but we both ened up pretty much lost and jogging the last part. Distance was out too.

In short: Challenginng 10k with great atmosphere
In full: The event as a whole was great fun and well organised. I wasn't aware of the confusion with the front runners and by my stage (I came 42nd) everything was sorted. Two aspects to be addressed would be putting timing areas at the start as there were lots of very slow runners at the front, and to change how the chip timer finish was done (rather sloppy). Other than that all was great fun and the course was nicely challenging. Will definitely be back for more!

In short: Great race, great organisation, great day!
In full: As other have said, the team put on a great event once again and the marshalls and residents were enthusiastic all the way round. Only gripe is about other runners - why do slow runners feel they need to be towards the front at the start, this just holds everyone back and causes frustration - whinge over!
