In short: Not on Mothering Sunday next year.
In full: Used this as my last long run before the Blackpool Marathon on the 5th April. It was a solid course with the inclines taking it out of you abit more on the second lap. The support throughout was superb.... saying that i won't be adding Marshmallows to my list of things to eat on a run. The lad i did the run was probably 50 metres behind me when i took the sweetie off the kind stranger. He saw me running sideways, spitting some strange mucus from my mouth and thought i'd swallowed a bee or a wasp.

In short: More like Mordor than Pontypandy.
In full: My first marathon. One of the most surreal experiences i have ever had. A very special weekend. Although physically i felt ok, mentally ,looking back retrospectively, i was all over the place. I have given up trying to explain the weather conditions to anyone who wasn't there. Seeing the wind whip a guy in the air like a Karate sweep was like a hallucination.....

In short: Leicester is Back.
In full: Really enjoyed the half marathon. It's great to run around your own city. It has PB Potential. Took my time, chatted all the way round. Despite that only 80 seconds off a PB. New Walk wasn't as bad as i expected.
Excellent organisation, especially with all the roadworks and development going on in the city. It's about time the biggest and most cosmopolitan city in the East Midlands had a big event. I'm sure a 10km from the Walkers Stadium, with a little help from Uncle Milan, could be on the cards also!!
Good to see Mick and Phil before hand, not seen them since Hose. Hope it went well lads.
Finally though, did anyone's chip time differ from there stopwatch. Mine was around 30 seconds out. I thought it was my cheap watch but my friend, who i babysat for 7 miles!!, was Garmin'd up and his time was the 30seconds plus out, despite us finishing at different times?

In short: Bad day at the office.
In full: Not raced since March. I was slower than i was last year when it was scorchio. The course is pretty unassuming and i've ran much faster, over 5 minutes in fact, over what have been described as harder courses.
On the positive side it has given me a kick up the backside... no more plodding 12-15 milers but some naughty shorter sessions!!

In short: A great day out in the country.
In full: I really enjoyed the race. A PB on a lovely course. I never realised just how beautiful my home county is. No real gripes. The only problem was the bottle neck at the beginning. If the day had been rainy and the ground muddy it could have been a rather naughty. A nice mix of running abilties and i like the old school cups of water instead of bottles!!
As i mentioned it is a PB course but a couple of runners i know went off like they were running for the bus and paid heavily. Respect the distance!
A great day and such a picturesque location that i would recommend it to all and sundry.
Before i finish i would like to apologise to Ade the telly presenter for making him wait for the disabled toilet beforehand. I hope you had a great race and good luck at London. Respect due to the Black Flag tee shirt. Top band!!!

In short: Second Year Running!!!!
In full: After completed in a PB, my friend also did, it was not at all a surprise that the times were all over the place after last year.
I contacted the organisers and apparently they only knew it was gun to finish 15 minutes before the race!!!???
I just can't believe that a big pre London event, sponsored by a large multi national corporation could allow this to happen.
Saying that i enjoyed the race. Lovely weather, got a sun burnt face, Rangers beat Celtic and England beat France in the rugby. It seemed a perfect day until i checked the results. Surely Nike know runners are obsessed by times and leaving things to chance or completly blagging people is not on.

In short: Great race.
In full: Monsoon weather in the Midlands? It was still warm but the rain cooled it down somewhat. Brilliant course, PB acheived. However saying that i wouldn't consider it a easy course. Good organisation and a very approachable club made the the wet feet well worth it.Will defo. do again.

In short: A tad warm.
In full: Brilliant race. Great organisation. I really enjoyed it, despite ending up with bloody nipples which made more look like a member of Opus Dei. Wasn't the day to wear a new vest!! Will defo. do again. Well done to Barrow Runners for a great run.

In short: Would be nice in the Autumn.
In full: The weather for me made it very uncomfortable. Around 1minute 30 secs of a PB. However i blame a too quick start for that. I wouldn't say it was flat. The large hill before the village seemed a place to make up time but it was the slowest hill i've ever run down!!!! Tarmac seemed sticky!!!! Nice finish, sprinting around the lanes and paths... reminded me of door knock run as a kid!!!!
