In short: hard and hilly (and just a LITTLE wet) ;-)
In full: I agree with two comments down below.

a) What is the point of entering a race if you aren't going to know your finishing position, yes ok, its for charity and I hope a lot of money was raised for the good cause.... but just how difficult is it to record times???????

b) what was the point of the warm up. The majority of the runners would have been experienced enough to know how to warm themselves up, the 3 minute delay to the start of the race in the poring rain was just ridiculous! (the warm up for the 3k was more fitting, but not for the main event)

In short: Really well organised and great value!
In full: All good, no issues. Big thanks to Jacky for helping me around following a recent injury.

Enjoyed the run this morning, not as hard as I was expecting, if I hadnt been nursing an injury it would have been almost perfect.

Will be back again next year. Great value too. £13 for a good race, and a tee shirt! cant ask for much more than that.

In short: Interesting to say the least!
In full: I spent a week in Jersey, built purely around the half marathon. Enjoyed every minute of it, and that includes the race. What a nightmare, but I am guessing people may already have come to that conclusion after reading everyone elses comments.

A PW for me (if PW is the exact opposite of PB), but I am hardly surprised, I was hit with a cold a couple of days prior and if I am honest, probably shouldnt have ran on the day, but I did it as it was really the sole intention of me being on the island.

Marshalling perfect, whole race really well organised. Even a few supporters out on the course, which bearing in mind the weather was nice to see. A good course too.

A massive thanks to Lisa and Nigel (the physios) for helping me out afterwards, I was not in a fit state to do anything and they kindly gave me a lift back to my accommodation. A big thanks also to the St Johns Ambulance people who helped me post race as my body temperature had dropped drastically.

Infact thanks to everyone, I hope to run it again someday.

In short: The most accurately measured race I have ever entered!
In full: All the mile markers were spot on.

Course was not that bad, first 6 miles were fine, but then the dreaded off road bit killed me.

Great massage pre and post race thanks for a fun day.

In short: Enjoyable morning
In full: Nothing but positives for me today. Excellent way that results were posted so quickly.
I enjoyed my run this morning, despite the weather, and I didnt even mind that additional 1/2 mile at the end.

And to be honest, the hill between 5 and 6 miles was no where near as bad as I was expecting. I think I had been wound up a little by a few people that said it was a killer. i was expecting worse!

i will be back!

In short: Farcical
In full: Allow me to quote straight out of the race programme -

"Profile of Race Director - Nigel Rowe has been race director for the Plymouth Half Marathon since 1994, steering the event to be recognised as one of the best in the UK"

May I suggest then, that the bloke retires from organising events? 13 years experience and he clearly thinks that 10 portaloos is sufficient to cover 6000 entrants? What a joke! Mix that with the bottle neck to get out of Cardiff Castle and the shambles which was the bag drop off it was a nightmare from start to finish. I joined the back of the queue for the toilets at 8am, to finally enter one at 8:55am. Absolutely disgusting.

one positive (and there is only one) its the best goody bag I have received this year. But that hardly makes up for the total mess of the rest.

Oh and I have just noticed that Nigel Rowe is an MBE, how did he get that? From making Plymouth a good place to run! I dont normally leave such cutting remarks, but come off it, 13 years experience and he makes it look as if he is the YTS lad! (no offence to yts people, not that there is such a thing anymore).

Same email is being sent direct to the organisers now. As I don't even suppose they will read this!

In short: Great run. I have no real negatives
In full: I thoroughly enjoyed the run this morning, I did the 1/2 marathon and was mere seconds out side of my pb. I actually thought it was a flat course, not sure if it falls under the undulating category, but that just makes for a pleasant surprise during the race.

Like a poster below, I noticed that the 8 mile mark was missing. I just assumed that some meddling kids had nicked it to be honest.

In short: ok race.
In full: Could tell it was the first time this race had been organised as there were a couple of things that could have been done better. But saying that I did enjoy the run and will be back again for next years too. things to improve on are as follows -

a) Cost. Seemed to be rather expensive for just a basic village 10k.

b) Mileage (or Kilometre) Markers - there werent any.

c) Not even a full 10k. By my garmin and a couple of other people that I spoke to it was around a 1/4 mile short of a 10k.

However as I have already said I did enjoy the friendliness and the local feel to the run. Thanks for organising it.

In short: Entered since february, and the only thing arranged on time was the Soup?
In full: I think just one word springs to mind, PATHETIC! Surely organising 15,000 (or however many it was) tee-shirts in 9 months isnt rocket salad is it? "Due to unforeseen cirumstances" wow, surely 9 months preparation time is enough to iron out any so called unforeseen circumstances. And then on the day to be handed a goody bag with just a tin of soup in it takes the biscuit. Why bother handing out goody bags at all if thats what you are going to put in there.

Only plus side was the quality of the medal, as they are always good. However, how often does one use their medal after race day anyway?

The organisation of this event really needs to be looked at, because quite frankly, its a complete shambles.

In short: My 2nd go at this one, and will be back for a 3rd.
In full: I really enjoy the Pewsey 5 miler. All the hills appear to be at the start of the race and its plain sailing there on in. 1 minute slower than last year, but its better as I was expecting, I wasnt expecting to get round at all due to an injury.

Smooth run race, a big thanks to all involved. There is not one thing I can pick a fault in.
