In short: Beautiful day - but not for running!
In full: If I had been there for a perfectly organised walk in the woods I could not have had a better experience. The organisation, supportive marshalls (they all cheered me on), regular water stops and fantastic location were without parallel.

However, running on the hottest day in 2012 (starting at 25C and finishing around 27C) in med-high humidity turned things around. Although I finished, I could easily have dropped out at the half way mark and probably ran the second loop a minute per mile slower than the first.

The supportive marshalls (certainly no crowds) and great location and organisation made the day though!

In short: Great race, but some bottlenecks
In full: I arrived early at 8am having driven 50 miles (well, if I'm eating at 6am, it's not really a big deal). Loads of parking right next to the start which was fantastic. Still seemed to be plenty of spaces near 9am. Didn't leave my bag in the tent (which probably sounds a good idea listening to others) as my car was so close. Lots of toilets at beginning meant that queues were not excessive.

Race was fantastic. Start was on time, the weather was great (no wind and about 10deg). Support was great in places although there are quite a few miles with nobody at all. Need to warn runners when water stations are coming and the length of the first one was way too short (Bath may be criticised, but water stations are brill).

Achieving my first sub 1hr30 probably gave the whole race a silver lining - have not stopped smiling since!

In short: 2 long delays in 2 years - what more needs to be said
In full: Even at 10am we were being asked to go to the start line and then found out that there was a delay. Might as well change start time to 10am. Then at least I would know that we would be starting by 11am.

In short: Couldn't organise p-u- in a brewery!
In full: Delayed start in cold and wet - bottlenecks at start and finish - no contingency for anything - man throwing t-shirts to finishers randomly - expensive - good marshalling round course - why would I bother coming back?

In full: Lovely race - lots wetter than last year. Slipped over twice and ended up covered in mud. Waterproof camera proved I was there. Great idea!

In short: MUCH better than last year - what was the soup about?
In full: Lovely race. Scenery so much better than Bath! Lots of support in the city which provided a better finish than last year. Personal best helped as well!

Why bother to give everyone a can of soup though? I even missed the normal range of junk pamphlets.

In short: Big hill at start, but lovely view from top
In full: Great race. After the hill you have a nice 2-3 mile downhill and then undulating back from Corfe to Swanage. Really enjoyed myself and couldn't resist getting straight in the sea to cool off afterwards.
