In short: Thoroughly enjoyed (the memory of pain passes so quickly!). Many thanks to all of the volunteers who could not have been more helpful and supportive.
In full: My first ultra and certainly not my last. The Ridgeway is a fantastic and ancient path incorporating some of the best scenery and prehistoric monuments in southern England. The route is quite challenging but is well signposted throughout. A very well organised and executed event – thanks to the Trail Running Association and all of the local running clubs involved. A vegan meal and soya milk for my tea at the halfway point was much appreciated. Also, thanks to ‘Dave’ for his companionship through the wee hours.

In short: An excellent and very friendly event. Despite those hills, I shall definitly be back next year. Thanks to grass roots events and their superb marshalls

In short: Emotional!
In full: My first marathon and far more painful than I'd bargained for! Not a course for the faint-hearted, though that only makes the sense of achievement all the sweeter (and you get a cool medal). The event was very friendly and well organised, many thanks to the brilliant WWT volunteers. I didn't find the walkers on the route to be a real issue, it added to the atmosphere if anything. Now I have had a couple of days to recover, I can safely say that I will be back next year. See you there...
