In short: Definitely not one for a PB but very well marshalled route and jelly at the end very welcome. The hills make this very much a race of two halves. Date of review: September 14, 2008

In short: Good course with sound marshalling and plenty of water. Good size to ensure plenty of company without crowding In full: A good well organised race over a fair flattish course.
Major Pluses:
* The course * The marshalling * The finish * The water stations * The gift
Minor gripes
* A marshal on the entrance to the Sands centre car park sending people to the empty park next door would have been an idea as everyone turned into the Sands centre and had to come out again 2) Not sure about walk to start 3) A tent to drop bags in at the stadium would have been handy 4) Why not have registration at the stadium - there's plenty of room.
These really are minor suggestions in the great scheme of things. Thanks everyone for organising a cracking race. Date of review: October 17, 2007

In short: Well done - the best organuised start I've done and the whole course was built for a PB In full: Well done to all concerned; abrilliantly organised event.
I had predicted traffic problems because of the bottlneck with the course and the traffic. I would suggest parking 1/2 mile short of Leith off the main road in from Glasgow as many others do. Date of review: April 4, 2007

In short: A better start this year and perfect weather made this a PB In full: I started at the very front of the blues and managed to sustain an even 7 minute pace despite passing a large number of obvious slower runners at the bridge who had set off with whites.
I still wonder whether a better pulse start would be to let 2 - 300 go and then pause for 30 secs - It would take longer but would spread people out better.
Course is excellent and the support of everyone is tremendous. It's reassuring to have proper mile markers (Edinburgh note)and lots of toilet opportunities (Edinburgh note)

In short: Much tougher than anticipated but pleasant location. In full: Having taken a 'break' from prep for Loch Ness, I'd hoped to smash my PB for the 10k as a bit of light relief. First 3k were very fast but then the next 3k was very tough. Steep hills and some hard valleys that needed scrambling up. Thankfully I found a partner to keep me going and we bombed the last 2k.
This seemed very civilised with no crowding at the start and people able to find their own pace. The support from onlookers was good and the number of TV cameras gave one stage fright.
All in all a nice break from 3 hour treks around hills but much tougher than I had expected. Date of review: August 20, 2006
