In short: Scenic, poor organisation and could do with improvements.
In full: Nice course, good atmosphere and many thanks to all the marshals for their support on such a freezing morning. However, the race was expensive for the goody bag and the facilities provided. Six toilets in total was a joke. £1.50 for a cup of tea as well as £1 to leave your bag, especially when the parking was a good walk from the start so we had no choice but to pay.
The parking was very muddy, we had to get help to get our car out & helped other drivers with theirs.
We have done many other races where the parking issue was addressed in similar weather with no problems.

In short: An excellent event
In full: The marathon is fairly small (120ish runners) with more athletes doing the other events. If you like the idea of running on quiet (flat) country lanes, with no sight of the runner in front of you, then this is the race for you. The bottled water and energy drinks were great, the marshalls generally excellent (at the end of a marathon I need pointing in the right direction, even if that direction may be obvious). I preffered this to Windermere or Nottingham (which are both good races).

In short: If you run marathons this should be on your tick list.
In full: The first half down the west coast of the lake is very scenic. As you get to the other side higher walls and hedges cut down some of the views and traffic is a slight issue, but was well handled as this can be a busy road. From the vague haze that was Windermere and Ambleside I remember good support, but the endless undulations had reduced me to stumbling wreck by then. The final hill upto Brathay was really uncalled for. The wonderful, but not hot weather helped. I found pacing over the first half difficult with the constant ups and downs and paid for that later on as the course got flatter.
