In short: Off road surprise
In full: I should have done my course homework I wasn't expecting the amount of off road involved.

In short: Capital Punishment
In full: Second and definitely the last time i have done this race unless there are fundamental changes. 1) The start time is too late for the time of year. 2) The relay runners make it confusing and soul destroying 3) The course has ridiculous bits of doubling back and sharp turns it needs a rethink and a country's capital city marathon should end in the city. 4) walking miles to get to your relay bus 5) I got my race number delivered the day before the race after I had arrived for the race necessitating a trip to get a replacement i could have done, without after ten hours travelling 6) The medal is disgusting - The organisers are juggling too many events in one weekend

In short: Well done Kirkby Moorside
In full: I'll start with a couple of criticisms which stopped this race getting top marks. 1) only 1 vet category which was not mentioned on the race information and I had to ask after the prizegiving to be told it was 49 and over rather bizarrely. Previous years results indicate they did it diffrently v40, v50 etc
2) Name spelled incorectly results had to email John Schofield
3) Prizegiving ceremony took forever as there were lots of other races, 10k was lat I think the organises need to consider the people who have travelled miles to get to their race and want to get home.

Otherwise everything else about this race is fantastic, beautiful market town, great support, grandstand finish.

In short: Help The Aged - Kill the Planet
In full: well not quite, but 9:30 start on a sunday hardly encourages the use of Metro public transport although credit to National Express for having early services. Overall it was well organised and I don't mind paying over the odds for charity.

In short: You missed a nice race
In full: First time at this event, will definitely come back again. It's tough but rewarding. I was surprised by the low entry as it's very good value at £4 and well marshalled with a nice grandstand downhill finish. Thanks to the organisers.

In short: From Me To You
In full: First time here but will come back again, course was hard but spectator friendly and will be better when the roadworks are done. great to see so many once a year runners and families very beginner friendly. glad I didnt get the usual duster (when i want a t shirt i go buy something stylish lol) Decent medal to give the kids - don't really understand the moans about value for money this was a big event with the logistics of toilets and transport to pay for. Although there weren't many water stations you did get bottles to carry around with you which i think is better than paper cups.
