In short: Who knew pain could be so much fun!
In full: Plumped for the full distance as opposed to the half I did 2 years ago. 16 miles of great running followed by 8 miles of cramp induced hell!

Despite it all, a great event. The course is very picturesque (if a bit lumpy when you get past half way), marshalls and event staff couldn't be more helpful and the finish is well organised with water, bananas and gift packs efficiently distributed.

Park and ride is a doddle - very well managed.

Overall really good day out - even if it did hurt.

In short: Superb organisation, great scenery, friendly atmosphere, aching muscles.... great fun!
In full: First venture into off road distance running - loved it. So well organised. Dumped car at park and ride, got bus to Broughton, changed in village hall, enjoyed free cup of tea and biscuit and we were off! Once on the move the rain ceased to be an issue and we were free to enjoy the wonedrful scenery. Miles passed by failry quickly - helped by ace marshalls, but hills got harder and harder - especially the ones where the chalk started to show through. Had hoped to dip under 2hrs, but was in no way disappointed to clock 2.04 which is 15mins over my road PB. Great finish, loads of water and bananas on offer. Bag collection easy, showers not overly cold. Was back in car at park and ride within 40misn of finishing. All in all a great day out. Will be back next year.

In short: Really good fun
In full: First race for a while and really enjoyed it. Well organised, lovely route (the hills aren't as bad as people will tell you) and you're doing some good to boot.
