In full: Great views and more marshalls than I have ever seen - really helpful too. However, if you like to be able to run on even surfaces, this ain't for you. Paths are very narrow at points which prevents normal running. If you want to get away from it all, great. If you like 'plain' running, maybe not. Could have done with an extra water stn on such a hot day.

In full: Really liked this course. Generally flat and well sheltered from the sun on a warm morning. Well organised start with time 'pens'. Why don't more races do this? One idiot in an orange shirt who seemed to think that you overtake by elbowing other runners. Go out on your own next time! Thanks to the organisers. A top event!

In full: I must have done hundreds of races in my time and I've only walked once before. A marshall told me even the winner had walked up one hill. So if you like running instead of hill-walking, like me, this isn't for you. Still, good for fitness and I suppose the clue was in the name! Great cake at the end!

In short: 3 miles up and 3 down ... great for a negative split! Best 10k I have done in a long time.

In short: A ggod course but relentlessly undulating and very short of shade on thr hottest day of the year!
In full: This is a good challenge for a proper workout. No massive hills but plenty of energy-sapping inclines. Unfortunately I wasn't too well near the end but attention from marshalls when I threw up was excellent and spurred me on to finish. One criticism, though: it's great for small clubs to run events like this, but however small the club, the marathon is still a big physical challenge and serving water at (literally)tea / coffee temperature all the way round is a big health risk. I know no one can predict the weather but if you want to think big, (e.g. marathon), big contingency plans are needed too. At the end, there was little repite as we were presented with a sweet, (warm) mily drink from the sponsors, completely inappropriate for the conditions. No other drinks were available anywhere, for love nor money!
