In short: Thank you Gade - it was fantastic!
In full: There were plenty of cheery encouraging marshalls at just the right points. I was never worried that I would get lost or miss a turning, and the mile markers were accurately placed. There were plenty of water stations and a jelly baby station around mile 17. The tea and cake at the end was just what I needed and it was nice to see a lot of the marshalls who had been out on the course returning to the clubhouse instead of rushing off home. Organised like clockwork and a fantastic idea. I'm sorry I missed out on the first 2 events, but will definitely be back next year.

In short: Well organised race, encouraging marshalls and a fantastic goody bag
In full: Sweets, chocolate, fruit, water, a t shirt AND a medal makes this race fantastic value for money. Course was well signed and the cheery marshalls were well positioned and gave good warnings when they could see cars trying to sneak out of their driveways. Residents with hoses and unofficial water stations were also a bonus!

In short: Nice race, good local support and a free cup of tea at the finish
In full: Organised to raise funds for the local school and well supported by marshalls and the local community. Definitely not a PB course because of the hills, but a good test of leg strength and a fun down hill finish, although having to run past the start with still 0.5km to go was psychologically challenging!

In short: I had a fantastic run - thank you!
In full: The route was well signed, and very challenging. Everytime I started struggling another cheering marshall appeared. They did an excellent job and I can't thank you all enough for helping me round. They all knew exactly which mile marker they were near and had a good knowledge of what was coming up, which I think is essential. Thanks also to the lovely Liss Runner who came running over to me with water as I came out of the finish area looking a little wobbly. I was shockingly slow, but I had a great run through beautiful quiet countryside. Definitely one to do again.

In short: Excellent race, but I couldn't have done it without the marshalls
In full: This was my first marathon attempt, and I made it, smiling all the way to the end. I ran most of the second half alone, so the support from the marshalls was much needed and appreciated. A special mention for the lady with the wine gums at the water station between 21-22, the man wearing his cycle helmet who made me laugh and the 2 marshalls at the bottom of the final hill. Very well organised race, clear signing all the way round and great medal! Thank you.

In short: Wet and cold but very enjoyable
In full: If I had not got cramp in my leg on entering the final puddle, the whole race would have been enjoyable. It was a really great atmosphere - from the commentator at the start calling out team names, to the organiser who assured me that yes, it would be wet and muddy but no, the puddles would not be heated this year, to the runners who stopped to help me through a bit of mud. It was a bit lonely at the back in the final stages but I understand this race was quicker to finish than in previous years. I loved the t-shirt and will be back to get one next year!

In short: It was tough but a really nice crowd of runners and marshalls and helpers
In full: I had a fantastic time. The course was tough and challenged a few of my underused muscles, but how happy was I to finish?! I felt a real sense of achievement. I think Julie (the lady collecting the chips at the finish) deserves a special mention for just being so nice to all the finishers and trying to remember everyone's names if they had been called out by the commentator. I would definitely do this race again, and not just for the delicious soup and chocolate biscuit at the end!

In short: Beautiful scenery and very enjoyable
In full: I completely agree with the other 2 reviews - excellent organisation, beautiful scenery, slightly challenging terrain and very windy but all in all a fantastic race - I crossed the finish line with a smile.

The only negative comment I have is that I was expecting water at 5k and it did not appear until nearly 7k.
