In short: A cracking race - you'll never have this much fun on the roads!
In full: I entered this on a bit of a whim, just looking for a local ten, but found I'd stumbled on an absolute gem. The first woodland section is pretty enough, though it's more or less single file. Then, after a bit of a meander along towpaths and past mills you come to the infamous Trooper Lane - half a mile of cobbles that feels like it's going straight up into the sky. The view of Halifax at the top makes it well worth it. Then it's alternating fast descents and short sharp uphills through woods and fields till the river crossing at the end which your feet will bless you for!
The ten and a bit took me a minute longer than the Leeds Half did last year, but the sense of achievement was so much greater. I've no doubts about signing up for this one next year.

In short: Well organised, with plenty of drinks stations a bonus in the warm conditions.
In full: This was my first half marathon, and I was very impressed with the organisation. The other races I've been in have had minimal road closures, so a short stretch on the pavement wasn't a problem. There's some nice turf to run on at that point anyway. I was glad of the number of water stations, as it was a little warm for my liking. The scenery's not bad along Stonegate and the Ring Road, but once you're past the abbey it's a bit of a boring slog back along Kirkstall Road. I like the colour of the tee, though I agree with the previous point that there's no design gone into it.

In short: Grand weather - the views from the Orme were well worth the climb.

In short: Well marshalled, and challenging without destroying this new runner.
