In short: Loved it! Friendly, not crowded and thoroughly enjoyable. In full: Really enjoyed this. Very friendly and calm start. Loved the chilled out music, which helped calm the nerves. No substantial loo, car parking or massage queues and fab commentary. Plenty or water and the sport cap tops were great so you could carry your water a distance - much needed as it was so warm! Thanks to all those marshals and people who helped. A really good 1st marathon and so different to London.
In short: What a nightmare, but what a challenge! In full: Never done such a tough race - a very steep 3 mile climb. Walked more than ran up but the journey down more than makes up for it. Loved the tea and cake, well organised- many thanks. Date of review: September 6, 2009
In short: 2 km children's race not good, 10 km fine but congested. In full: Children's race was very poorly organised. Lots of confusion about where they finished and the map was wrong, which was the direction stewards kept sending everyone in! Consequently there were some very upset children looking for parents at the end and those of us who were running could not see our children finish - very poor. 10km was fine, if not a little congested at the front. But a fast flat course and I got a PB to boot - many thanks. Date of review: September 6, 2009
