In short: Very friendly race; ideal for all abilities; great organisation
In full: This is easily the friendliest race I ran in 2007 (as it was for 2006). There's a lovely welcoming atmosphere for all, with good organisation and facilities. The start can be a bit hectic but settles down quickly. The marshalls offer great support during the race - most of the spectators are at the finish rather than spread around the course.

The presentation after the race is great, with some touching speeches from the organisers and sponsors. The towel was a unique finishers prize - I love it! And how great is it to have a race with a free party in Camden in the evening?! Well done guys!

In short: Beautiful course - pray for better weather in 2008!
In full: The rain was a bit of a dampener, and a few of us were a little concerned we would miss the start (we were in the last minibus run to the start line) but it all ran smoothly. There were some lovely pockets of crowd support, particularly around the drinks stations and the marshalls were great with holding up traffic for us.

This is a fairly hilly course that ends on an uphill stretch so I wouldn't go looking for a PB. However, the rolling countryside views more than make up for a slightly slower time.

There was some discussion during the race about how accurate the mile markers were but this is a tiny issue really!

I'll definitely be back again!

In short: Much better organisation at the start than in previous years - some definite PB potential.
In full: From a club runner's point of view, the start was much improved this year with a marshall asking for your PB over 5k before letting you into the start behind the elites.

I really love running this course around Hyde Park - it's a fantastic atmosphere with good crowd support and it's wonderful to see so many women join together for a great cause. I really do feel this is a race for all now. The only downside is the lack of toilets - the queues just before the start are HUGE every year. Please give us more loos next time!!

In short: Great for motorsport fans. Good crowd support when the weather holds out!
In full: This was my second Silverstone half, and I have to say I enjoyed this year much more than the hail and gales of 2007. The organisation is great here - I hardly had to queue for anything, not even the toilets! No problems getting my bag back after the race. My only gripe was that my timing chip didn't scan over the mat at the start so my finishing time was about 35 seconds out (the time it took me to get to the start line after the gun). I started with one of the Runner's World pacing groups which is a great idea if you feel intimidated by other runners around you - we had no problems getting past the people in front with our pacing group leader politely calling out we were coming through! Next year, it would be great to see a 7:30 mile group if you can manage one RW.
