In short: Well organised, great people, 105 water stops family at every lap and I needed a crane to pick up the goody bag it was that big
In full: Sandbach striders have a logo that says they are no ordinary running club, boy are they right. This race was something else , only fools would do this, so a good job we are running fools. The surface is quite soft and spongy so great for running long distances. The support at this event from the mc and the crowd was something else, especially the two ladies that walked to the other side of the track to shout up. Watching people finish and overtake you is well bizarre.... Would I do it again? Probably not but not because its a bad race, it's just a tough race... But if you want a flat marathon that's as tough as a hilly one get your entry in. I promise you this will sell out and sell out quickly

In short: Superbly organised, great friendly race at a fantastic price.
In full: great race this one. I belong to another local club and have to say that this was well worth turning out for and Im pleased many in our club thought so too. The race mixes cross country ability with a bit of road running, some trail running and style hopping. The race was pretty damm muddy but hey ho, that's what its all about. The marshalls were really supporting with a good shout whenever you see one. Some chose to run in costumes and would I of known I would of added to that as it gave it a good feel. Well done SCH, great race at great value, £1 a mile? cant run a car for that these days

In short: Hard as nails, full on head wind, water crossing, phew ,tough tough tough
In full: If you want a challenge then this is it. I reckon this was harder than a marathon. Mainly due to the head wind, boy it was windy, then rain that stung you as you ran, then, river crossings that literally just sapped the last bit of energy out of you.

A unique experience that I would probably not do again. As close to a desert race as many of us will do.

Im a 1-50 HM runner and this took me 2-21

Only real critism is that there was a lack of toilet facilities a the start, meaning I abandoned that hope and set off. Of course, there are no hedges to jump behind here neither.

In short: Not Spoilt by the most horrendous weather conditions immaginable
In full: Cold, Wet, very wet, windy you name it weather wise it had it.
But
Couldn't take away from the brilliant organisation and friendly event. Dancing marshalls and cars playing rocky music just keep you going.
Great event if not a tough event, anyone even considering doing a Marathon should fit this race in to their schedule.

In short: Nice Course, it's run like clockwork, and great scouse wit experienced when running
In full: Really enjoyed my second race. I know many will moan about the crowded start but its being rectified for next year and it's chip timing anyway so does it matter unless your elite? Organisers work really hard to get this event on and should get praise for doing so. A little on the expensive side but still just about worth it. Well done guys and see you next year.

In short: A great course with enthusiastic Spectators, well organised
In full: A strange course this one, its city based with a few villages to run too before you run back to the city. Also you get to take in two countries. Brilliantly organised with great PB potential for the more focused club runner but still enough fun to be had for the runner like myself that went from a target of 4-30 to "please god let me finish" This was my first marathon and all I can say is that I am so so so glad I chose Chester. Well done to all the organisers, it went like clockwork from the start to the end.
