In short: Excellent organisation makes a great event In full: CONAC have a well deserved reputation for organising top quality events. I am a race director so appreciate all the work they put in to staging a first class race. This year was tough due to the very strong winds. It is a very good event and runs like clock work despite having an entry of 3000. I race most weekends and would say that its one of the best organised races I have done. The Trowse 10k in April is of a similar standard. Date of review: November 29, 2012

In short: Great course, poor organisation In full: I am a race director of an event so appreciate the work which gores in to organising an event. Cambridge is a fabulous location for a big city race. The event attracted predominantly charity/non club runners and should have geared up accordingly. I thought the course was excellent apart from the narrow final loop, where the risk of collision with an oncoming runner was high. The lack of toilets was inexcusable. The goody bag was poor, but the medal was good quality. The organisation of buses to/from the park and ride was first class. I am sure that the race will be even better in 2013 Date of review: March 12, 2012

In short: Well organised end of year 10 miler In full: A very well organised race which was blessed with ideal weather for running (in 2010 the race was cancelled due to snow and ice). Its a tough course with some good hills, mainly in the first half, and the last mile. I really enjoyed it, congratulations to Royston Runners for staging such a good event Date of review: December 28, 2011

In short: A challenging but really enjoyable race, very well organised, well done BBDRC In full: I really enjoy running in local races, and this event has a great community feel to it. Credit to Bungay Black Dog RC and Adnams for their excellent organisation of the event, the free beer and extensive prize list. The race itself is challenging, it includes hills and the course is open so can be affected by the wind. Its definitely worth doing and is capable of producing fast times allowing for the hills, a definite for the calendar in 2012 Date of review: November 6, 2011

2011 The Thurlow 10

In short: A great combination of road, cross country and hills set in fabulous scenery In full: I loved this race. Thurlow is a picturesque village in Suffolk with many of the locals turning out to help stage the event. It is a tough course and I would admire anyone able to achieve a PB, however it is a lovely scenic course with a combination of hills, off road and some fast downhill sections. Support from the locals and marshal was excellent. I really enjoyed the race, it has a real local feel but was well organised. A definite for 2012 Date of review: October 23, 2011

2011 'Down Tow Up Flow' Thames Towpath Half Marathon

In short: Fabulous scenery and a great race for first timers In full: I really enjoyed the race, the scenery is unbeatable and it was well organised. The race suits those new to the half marathon as it is primarily non club runners. I have driven down from Ipswich to race so it definitely has a special quality to me. The organisation could have been better at the start though, 10 toilets isn't enough and there were long queues, and it would have made sense to have 2 baggage vans as the 2nd wave runners put their bags on top of the first wave, and the first wave finished first! I will definitely come back to Windsor and run it again Date of review: July 26, 2011

In short: A very well organised event, well done CONAC In full: This is a very well organised event, with a good atmosphere. The first mile or so is easy going but then there is a long drag/hill which is a real test. Most of it is a 2 lapper so you get to run the hill twice. Date of review: April 24, 2011

In short: A challenging but really enjoyable race In full: I am a big fan of this race, I ran the marathon 2 years ago and the half this time. Its a challenging race, with hills over the first 5/6 miles and then fairly flat after. It takes in some great scenery and is very well organised Date of review: April 10, 2011
